The difference between Penn State and LSU is that he actually is considering LSU, talks about LSU, and talks to the LSU staff on a regular basis.

It is, however, an A&M - LSU battle for him.

Arkansas wants OSU and OU to take a hit in North Texas. We want to tell those Northern Texans it sure would be fun to play against your Southern Texas friends in the SEC. Again, Thank you TAMU for joining the SEC and helping us back into our Alumni centers.

You guys are going to need more than our membership in the SEC to recruit well. Hell, even winning isn't doing it for you.

It's funny, as I typed that, I had no intention of flaming. I guess that's how it reads, though.

The last guy LSU got from West Texas was Shawn Jordan. He played fullback and was from El Paso.

He is a UFC fighter now.

Absolutely not. This is the reason Les hired Adam Henry. I like his chances in e. texas against anyone on a&m's staff for a player we really want. Les will keep racking up wins because he'll always keep it simple and try to win at the point of attack even when he's outmatched, and go balls out when the game is on the line. Other coaches will try to do too much and get beat when they shouldn't. Recruits will always take notice of win-loss record. This is the secret to Les Miles football.

I also think that it's valid to point out uniform color and design relative to the mindset of teenage athletes. Most young athletes want to be flashy and would probably prefer canary yellow and blurple over maroonish/poo-brown with no accents any day of the week. But that's just my opinion.

I'm still trying to find a poll ranking LSU's Vet school higher than A&M's.

if A&M starts winning at a high level then we could potentially nab a few Louisiana kids that have LSU offers.

what A&M wants is to shut out OSU and to an extent OU. THAT is actually happening.

Just based on a 5 month window, the move by TAM has actually helped LSU recruiting. We're getting a great response in Texas this year and next year will be even bigger
I'd argue this has more to do w/ LSU having effective recruiters back in TX after the hole Porter left when he went to Memphis.

agree, which is why a strong TX presence is so important.

terrible comparison

of course not, but LSU finished second for him the first time around and the prevailing thought right now is that LSU is likely the biggest threat

Does LSU's recuiting take a hit because of A&M joining the SEC? It seems to me that LSU gets a lot of it recruits from East Texas, and there advantage is that LSU was in the SEC and A&M was in the BIG 12. Now that A&M has joined the SEC, do you see hometown recruits wanting to play at A&M and not have to sacrifice being in the BIG 12.

thoughts?

I doubt it has much effect. Whatever advantage A&M gains from being in the SEC will be offset by the advantage we gain by having a game in College Station every other year. Now we can promise them a game near home at least twice in their career.

For the first time in the 30 years I've lived in Dallas, we are getting SEC Football stories in the Dallas Morning News

For the first time ever the SEC will get coverage on the 6pm & 10 pm local (ABC, CBS, NBC) newscasts.

For the first time ever parents in Texas can pick up the paper or turn on the TV and get info about their big, strapping, football-playing son.

LSU has a law school, a medical school and a dental school; none of which a&m has.

Baylor College of Dentistry is part of the A&M system, so you'd be wrong on that count.

8. Texas A&M
9t. Georgia, Michigan State
12. Florida
13. Tufts
14. Purdue
15t. Auburn, Washington State
17t. Virginia Tech, Iowa State
19. Missouri, Illinois
22. LSU
23. Mississippi State
24. Oklahoma State
25. Oregon State

This state has a population of nearly 25 MILLION...there's more than enough players to completely stock the rosters of LSU, aTm, Texass, ZeroU, Arky, & all the Tejas schools, and then some.

If anything, I believe aTm in the SEC will raise exposure to the conference for recruits considering LSU.
