Or, which program will give him a shot at winning a nc, while preparing him for the nfl while he's there? Not only preparing him to make it to the nfl, but to excel in the league and have a neck up on others from the get-go. LSUs track record of elite defensive backs is second to none. Surtain jr has major family ties to louisiana and has stated that he sees Louisiana as his home state, evendors though he was raised in florida. He has a lot of pride in Louisiana as his home and has had LSU on top for 2 years, and we still are his leader. It would be a complete shock for him to sign anywhere else and I'm just being honest. I'm sure our coaching staff feels the same way. LSU is known for preparing players for the nfl, and preparing them to step in from day 1 and be immediate players for their team...especially at the defensive back positions. He will have the opportunity to compete for national titles at LSU as well man, but this will be a business decision too. It's pretty damn tough for any program to match LSU in the regard of preparing you for the nfl as a db. Corey Raymond is already preparing defenses with the idea that surtain Jr will be a tiger. Nothing is 100% sure until he signs, but I have a tough time seeing him go anywhere else other than LSU.

No offense but you really think LSU is close to being a top 4 team in the next few years?

Playing against national champions doesn’t count.

Sure we can be. We have the talent for sure. We will see how it plays out. You act like Bama just dominated LSU this year and that's not the case. That game could have been completely different with decent qb play, we missed tons of opportunities. You won 10-0 the year before and it's been really close games damn near everytime we play yall. So, absolutely I believe LSU has a chance to make it to the playoffs in the very near future.

Anytime I see this or other qualifiers like it, I think back to this: LINK

Our defense will be absolutely loaded in 2018, and I expect our offense to be much better and look completely different with Brennan under center and the talent we have surrounding him. Idk why you would be so quick to write LSU off so suddenly for this upcoming season, much less a few years from now. We will see what happens.

That is like saying if Tua was the QB this past season we could have beat LSU by 40. In the end a 1 point loss is the same as a 21 point loss. It is still a loss.

Not saying y'all don't have a chance but you guys lost Canada and Coach O hasn't proven he can beat good teams. Except AU when Gus went full retard in the second half

So will our offense and since we are both basing the season outlook on potential our O should by far be the best under Saban. Stealing your words we will be absolutely loaded on offense with what we have returning. Our D will be better as well barring no injuries and even limping along all season as we did still won the NC.

I didn't like some of the stuff Canada did on offense anyway personally, and I am excited to see what ensminger can do as the full time oc now. He did really well in an interim role 2 seasons ago and set offensive records at LSU on short notice. All I'm saying is that to say LSU doesn't have a shot to be a playoff team in the next few seasons is just off base man. We definitely have a shot due to talent alone. We have a good coaching staff as well. Say what you want about coach O, but we simply didn't have the right pieces in place last year to be a serious contender. Too much attrition, injuries, and lack of depth on both lines of scrimmage, which made us start numerous freshman. Combine our troubles/inexperience at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball with etling at qb, who was a below average qb, and you aren't a title contender. We still should have ended up beating troy and ND in the bowl game, but whatever. I expect LSU to be a contender within 3 years. Jmo.

If he was choosing it purely off being National Champion, Clemson or Alabama would be the pick.

Exactly. I didn't say that he was. Bama and LSU have their pros and cons, and both offer an opportunity to start right away. I just don't see him switching to Bama after LSU has been his solid leader for 2 years now, and it still hasn't changed. Can't wait until wednesday. I just don't see him going anywhere but LSU honestly.

And? I Dont blame him for ta king his 4 official visits and getting pampered and spoiled while he's there. Its a once in a lifetime thing to be recruited and to get to travel and take trips for free and get treated like a king everywhere you go. I don't think the coaches were trying to get him not to go on the visit. I just believe that there has been an agreement already with assurance that he's going to sign with LSU. It sure seems to be the case by hearing him and his family talk about where he stands with LSU remaining the leader. Anyway, congrats on getting him on campus in Miami, a trip he is going on with 3 of his hs friends just to have a good time. I'm done talking about him and his recruitment. I trust what he says more than anything else bc he hasn't changed 1 bit since he named LSU his top school 2 years ago. See you on Wednesday.

Has Surtain recently, like this week, named LSU his leader? Like is there a direct quote from him or is some writer saying this?

How does he have an opportunity to start right away at LSU? I thought y'all returned everyone nearly. Because Bama lost all six starting DB this year. Ouch that could be painful next year.

We lost Kevin toliver and donte jackson. It won't hurt us. We have talent out of the arse already, but a player like surtain could come in and take the other cb spot immediately...if he earns it no doubt. He won't be given anything, but that's any big time program. He would have a good chance at starting or at least playing a lot his freshman year at LSU.

Yeah they are passing on a five star Cb when they are in need of more Cb. Haha that makes complete sense lol. How about he wasn’t going to Bama in the first place, Bama didn’t pass on him. He’s going to Tennessee or A&M.

Why can’t they be? All they need to do is develop a qb? Which probably will never happen haha. But you can’t say there isn’t enough talent to be top 4 very soon. Defense will be nasty next year.
