I'm more impressed with him than I was with Channing Ward.
What a surprise

Yeah I'm not gonna try to say that Jones looks better than the most impressive defensive guy i saw in the under armor game. But they do look like very very similar players.

How big is Jones? He looks skinny in that picture with his big dawg shirt on. And I mean does anyone really know how big he is, not what scout lists him as because he looks nothing like Channing without pads in that pic

He is listed at 250. He is an impressive athlete who carries more lbs than it appears. He also plays basketball and played in the MS all star game over the summer.

Just looking at the arms Channing is a bit thicker, but they have a very similar frame. If Channing is 250-260 then Jones is 230-235ish, maybe 240.

Channing's weight is in his lower body too. Kids thighs and arse are huge. No homo

He looks like Deatrich Wise, the kid we signed last year. 6-6/235 ish, who can contribute some immediately while he puts weight on.

As raw as Jones is and as stacked as we are on the DL, I am pretty much positive that he redshirts.

Give him a year with Balis, put on about 10-15 pounds then we are looking at a possible beast

FWIW Chris Jones had 5 sacks last night. Kid is living up to his billing.

Yes. Another reason that it is absolutely imperative that we get Za'Darius Smith in this class. We will need his two years at rush end to really bridge the gap to Jones.

Is there no faith in Autry coming back, Preston Smith and Kaleb Eulls? We'll lose McCardell, sure, but Ryan Brown is getting time and should be better next season for our two deep.

Of this group, Autry is the only true rush end. The others are run stoppers.

Even with Autry coming back, all that does is carry you through the redshirt year. It does not allow you to "ease Jones into the rotation" how you could with Za'Darius here for one additional year.

Do you think Ryan Brown'll bulk up then? He looks a lot like a thicker Harris. I'd assume he develops into a pass rush.

I love when people attribute rosebowl for bumping a ranking when in reality 90% of the recruits he is responsible for are LSU kids, he covers very few state or ole miss recruits mainly due to his location.

if he wasn't ranked over the summer i wouldn't say he is the best prospect we have ever seen

Yeah because those JR summer camps and combines mean everything. exactly the kind of shite that got Ryan Buchannon 4 stars when he is worth maybe 2. Not a stab and it shouldn't offend you seeing as you have another qb in this class who I think is going to be really good.

I think Saban, Petrino, Muschamp, Gundy, and others offering him on the spot after watching him throw is what got him four stars but I'm sure you know more about talent evaluation than they do
