There is Memphis and then there is Tennessee. When it comes to recruiting, they are two different states.

1. Louisiana
2. Texas
3. Florida
4. Georgia

Then a good deal of states I'd say tied for 5th like MS, AL, TN, SC, etc...

Memphis is no longer the best city in Tennessee for football talent.

Take a look at those hometowns. Middle TN is dominating Memphis and 2016 looks to be more of the same.

Currently maybe, but it's all about cycles. As recently as 2013 16 of the Rivals top 25 were from Memphis.

GA, AL, FL. No reason for us to look outside these three.

Alabama shouldn't really be on any list except for a AU/UA fan.. The best recruits very rarely leave the state.

6. Missouri - produces some solid talent. Fighting mizzou for that talent isn't to much of a challenge.

Have you guys pulled anybody since Ronnie Wingo? Even his little bro couldn't make sense of heading down there.

No. As and adult male, I think it's kind of creepy to exert a lot of energy internet stalking high school guys, so please enlighten me to all of the talent you are so easily pulling out of Missouri. All that I know is that arky throws in offers on pretty much all of the talent in state, and I can't remember you getting anyone worth a shite since Wingo.

They just pulled 3 of the top players out of Missouri this past class. Brian Wallace, a big OL and the #1 player in the state (yes, Mizzou wanted very badly), Rafe Peavey a QB who was the #4 player in the state (Mizzou didn't push because it was Arky before the race started) and Armon Watts, a top 20 in the state kid who plays DL.

Who is Arky in on out of Missouri this year?

Damn, if Mizzou is losing in state kids to that dumpster fire to the south, I'm really glad I don't bother to following recruiting.

Sounds like we need to get the Mizz/Arky series going soon to drive home who really owns the ozarks.

Honestly do not care. Partly because we're Vandy and we take what we can get, but partly because I don't see any reason anyone else should care either. Building a fence around your backyard is all well and good, but if I'm LSU/Bama/Georgia/TAMU/whoever, I wouldn't care if I got 10 five stars from Bangalore, India or 10 five stars from my university's hometown. It really doesn't actually make much of a technical difference other than nebulous pride. If you want to argue that locking down your state helps future recruiting, that's fine. But if you can recruit well every year, it matters not a whit where the recruits come from. Indeed, if you're not from a talent-rich state (I'm looking right the hell at you, Arkansas OP) you actually suffer by prioritizing your own state over a better one nearby (Texas or Louisiana, in Arkansas' case.)
