You can talk shite all you want, but the fact is Mike Evans gets a bigger paycheck than OBJ because Evans skills were highlighted in college.

I never said one word intimating that LSU's receivers don't have a lot of talent.

OBJr. had 1100+ yards his last year at LSU starting alongside a 2nd round pick across from him. He had 2300+ receiving yards in his career, not counting his special teams contributions (obviously).

Evans getting picked higher in the draft pretty much solely had do with size. Evans was 6'5 230, OBJr. only 5'11, 200. The NFL will always obsess over size in their "#1 WR" mindset. Needless to say the Giants certainly got the best deal out of it all, arguably the best player in the 1st round from that draft.

Dear god lets get over this WR debate.

The fact is Merritt will probably play at like Tulane or some other South Louisiana school. He left Oregon because of family problems. In no way does it help if he is College Station or Houston.

Yall need to grasp the bigger picture.

It will be telling if the family issues are a smokescreen and they litmus test is if he ends up in S. LA. Part of me thinks he got beat out and wants to be closer to home. A&M and Houston would allow his family to see him much more.

Mike Evans was drafted higher due to his perceived higher physical upside. It had absolutely nothing to do with Texas A&M.

You can say whatever makes you feel better, but the facts are:

Mike Evans came to Texas A&M after 1 year of HS football.

He was developed into a first team All American by his RS Sophomore year. Catching 69 passes for 1394 yards and 12 touchdowns. He then declared for the NFL.

No way he would have been developed that fully and quickly in a run oriented O.

LSU's 3rd string receiver was drafted, became a starter and is still in the league years later. But yeah, we can't develop WRs in a run heavy O.

Both Jarvis Landry and OBJ are outperforming Evans in the league right now. Both breaking records in their first two years. Your statements hold no weight.

I guess that's why the nfl doesn't really draft receivers from LSU...oh wait, idiot.

Gotta credit our staff...looks like they went out and replaced Merritt quickly.

Bama fans I am wondering if he had a legit offer from y'all.

Odell Beckham was a 4 star 5.9 recruit
Jarvis Landry was a 5 star 6.1 recruit.

Mile Evans was a 3 star 5.5 raw recruit that played 1 year of HS football.

The raw 5.5 3 star Evans played in a pass oriented offense that showcased his ability.

After only 3 seasons, 3 star Evans was drafted above the 4 star and the 5 star and thus gets a BIGGER CHECK.

That is all any recruit needs to know.
