He was a true frosh last year and he had a good spring. I don't know if he was ever going to be a superstar but his floor is pretty high. I would be surprised if he didn't play in the two deep after redshirting.
Also, he stated there were family issues. So, he may apply for a waiver. However, I am not sure how far away A&M and where he is from in LA to justify the waiver.

Loved this kid coming out of HS and still love his potential. Hopefully with the transfer year he can start tapping into it and contribute in 2017 when there should be ample opportunity to earn reps

Automatically take a guy with this much athletic talent.
I can understand the WR Coach and RB Coach both wanting him.
We will lose a lot of WR's after this season and Christian Kirk will leave after the 2017 season, so it looks like a great situation for Merritt!

That dude isn't leaving the big 12. I wouldn't be surprised if he end up at Tech, where he was committed to before flipping.
