Winston will not take the starting job from AJ and he has two years left.

Winston could redshirt. . .and then if he can't beat out McCarron, you guys are in trouble.

I don't think you realize how well A.J. McCarron played for a first year starter. Far superior stats to either of your senior QBs.

If you are using our starting QB's as a benchmark, you are in deep, deep, deep shite.

A.J. didn't kill Alabama chances at a great year, so I can't wait to see what he does in the coming years. He has far superior skills than any QB Alabama has had in the last 20 years.

If AJ plays the way he did this year, Alabama will be national title contenders for the next 2 years, assuming he doesn't leave early.

You won't have Trent Richardson to bail him out.

No. We'll have two 5 star and two 4 stars to take his place though, along with a fantastic offensive line. I like our future.

Eddie Lacy and Jalston Fowler are the 4 stars. Dee Hart and TJ Yeldon are the 5 stars.

Alabama will still have a strong running attack, with four starting offensive linemen back. I think we can manage with Eddie Lacy, Jalston Fowler, Dee Hart, and T.J. Yeldon.

Guys like Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson don't grow on trees. However, I think Eddie Lacy showcased his talents at times in 2010 and 2011. If he's healthy in 2012, Alabama won't have to try the "by committee" approach as much as it seems it will need to.

Exactly.

The difference between now, and later. . .is that now, nobody concerns themselves with gameplanning for McCarron.

Because they are too busy trying to figure out how to stop Trent.

They'll still concern themselves with your running game, but nobody else instills any fear in opposing DC's.

More time planning for McCarron will be trouble for him. Like Tebow without Harvin.

ETA: not saying Tebow wasn't a great college QB. . .but the offense looked stoppable after Harvin left. . .because everyone had spent as much time planning for Harvin, as Tebow.

Dude, give it a rest. After Alabama lost three offensive linemen, a starting TE and its starting quarterback from 2008, they only went undefeated, BCSCG, and heisman the next year.

The very next year, Alabama loses 9/10 defensive starters, and despite a relatively down year, still lead the conference in total defense.

And the year after that, they lose their starting quarterback (again), starting left tackle (again), starting heisman-winning rb, and one of the best receivers ever to play at the university (four first rounders!). All they do the next year is go to the BCSCG (again), and send another running back to the heisman ceremony (again).

See a pattern yet? I am not worried one bit about losing TR.

All I see is two losses to LSU in that time span.

I'm trying out this Rantards thing

This staff has demonstrated the consistent ability to evaluate and develop talent. You cannot deny that.

Now if you want to talk about game-day coaching, then we can. But that's not what this thread is about.
