It's only Bama players whose parents can't afford nice things so we have to pay them with 7-8 yr old cars to get them to come here.

I forgot which team Alabama or LSU got put on probation for cheating. Can one of you squeaky clean Alabama fans help me out with the answer

Didn't l6u get caught paying a recruits rent or something within the last couple of years.

The situation with Hicks was very different than buying cars for football recruits. He didn't have the money to move to BR or front money to stay in town while visiting. The assistant coach at that time didn't go through the proper channels to get financial aid for Hicks's visit and LSU self reported it to avoid further damages to the program later.

What are you talking about, read the story, there was no money exchanged into Hicks hand according to the news reports. The coach put him up for lodging and was just visiting the school at the time all of this occurred. He was not a commitment or signee at that time.

Hicks didn't have the ability to pay for the trip on his own and the coach made arrangements without properly going through the school.

"Hicks received impermissible transportation and lodging during an unofficial visit and then during the summer spent in Baton Rouge prior to enrollment, as well as a number of impermissible phone calls from then-LSU receivers coach D.J. McCarthy. While the violations would eventually cost McCarthy his job and Hicks his eligibility, the reality of Hicks’ involvement was far less salacious."

If you have a news report that says different, it was one that I didn't hear or see yet.

Also I was not down talking Alabama, just stating that I did not see how Hicks's situation was identical to the theme of the thread.

Went to high school with Travin Dural, he got that charger before ever being heavily pursued by LSU. It's Maroonish, same as BBHS school colors. Adams dad played in the NFL, he comes from money. Don't really know Chark's story. An explainable 2/3 is not nearly as bad as the amount of Dodges being floated around on the Bama football team.

Don't try to talk logically when speaking to bama fans about illegal benefits. They wrote the book on it and seem to deflect quite often.
