Man, we need to make it to Atlanta this year and show that we can open up the throwing game to invoke some more confidence in some of these WR recruits. A strong passing game and deep ball hasn't been our M.O under Dobbs, but that will change under Dormady or Guarantano once Dobbs graduates. We're loaded with talent at WR, yet nobody has had consistent production with all of the dink and dunk short/intermediate passes we need to have in place for Dobbs. That needs to change with Preston Williams, Josh Malone, Jauan Jennings, and Josh Smith all lined up out wide. I'd love to see all 4 of those guys get at minimum 500 yards a piece this season. I'd be surprised if they do, sadly, but I think Dobbs takes another step forward going into his senior year and becomes effective enough to at least let them try to open up the offense a little bit more.

Going forward, one of the biggest reasons that I'm excited about the future is J. Guarantano. I think that he goes down as one of the biggest gets for Butch since he's been here. He opens the offense up to the point that I think he's the future of the program. He's just as good at tucking the ball and taking off like what Dobbs has been so effective with, but he is going to kill a lot of people with his arm too. He was getting comparisons with Marcus Mariota coming out of HS by several recruiting analysts his SR year. He's the most excited I've been in regards to a QB commit probably since Crompton. It's going to be interesting to see how it plays out for the starter in 2017 between RF Guarantano & JR Dormady.

I believe Dormady is easily the starter. Guarantano has a big arm but don't think he is very college ready.

I think Guarantano fits the offensive scheme better, but will be at a disadvantage initially in terms of familiarity with the offense being 2 classes behind Dormady.

We'll see. Hopefully Dormady can get some playing time this season to see what he can do.
