Let him earn that nickname. Auburn fans, you have a lot to learn about nicknames. You don't pick your name like he did.

You have to earn the nickname "Duke"?

Besides the obvious, all of the incoming DBs. They might be freshmen/first year but I think it will help anyway.

I'd be surprised if Bessent, Boston or Roberts played. Roberts might, but he and Bessent need to put on a good bit more weight to play at the college level and Boston is just too raw. I see Moncrief, Ruffin and Joseph Turner playing - Turner mostly because he's more physically ready coming in from juco. Moncrief will start, Ruffin and Turner will add depth.

The freshman/juco's that will contribute most are Moncrief, Truitt, Lambert, Dhaquille, Thomas and maybe Ruffin and Andrew Williams. I think Williams might get some decent time at DE.

Rashard Robinson welcomes him to Robinson Island. At 6'3 he's a WR's nightmare. Just ask Mike Evans.

Duke > Evans everyday and twice on Sunday. In regards to Robinson, I reckon we'll see won't we. This will be so much fun to revisit!

Leonard and Brandon Harris make the biggest impacts stepping into positions of leaders as true freshmen. That being said, I think Trey Quinn will have a break out season. I'll go ahead and say Trey will lead the team in receiving yards as well as # of catches. (Chi catches the most TDs.) ETA: Jamal Adams is definitely a name to listen for as well.

You're tripping me out with this.

We can call DUKE WILLIAMS whatever we want.

incoming freshman
Racean Thomas will play. Peyton Barber, as good as he is, has been plagued by injuries dating back to high-school. Cam Artis-Payne will shoulder the majority of the carries, while Corey Grant still maintains the speed sweep role.

Honestly, there aren't many others that could contribute for us right now. We have a lot of depth, experience and starters coming back. Andrew Williams is SEC ready, but is facing a stacked depth chart. Tre Williams is SEC ready, but also facing a 2nd string role behind Cass McKinzy. IMO, Stephen Roberts may be able to earn some snaps behind Jermaine Whitehead and Derrick Moncrief. Rudy Ford will be his main competition, but it's hard to tell which others because some also play STAR.

juco transfers
D'haquille "DUKE" Williams will start, and is already the best wide receiver on the team. He is one of the best in the country. Derrick Moncrief will start at the boundary safety position. DeVonte Lambert has a chance to start, but will have to learn and adjust quickly. He also has to jump over some other guys. Joseph Turner is an underrated guy that may be able to jump into the thin, unproven rotation at cornerback.

The only guy I can see playing a signficant role for UGA next season is Malcolm Parrish. We have depth issues at CB and Safety and he is going to be our best incoming freshman and has the talent to play from day 1.

He isn't just going to have significant PT, he'll a finalist for, if not win, the SEC Freshman of the Year. He is my favorite recruit from last year. BEAST.

So yeah, Parrish is also my pick.

Tony Brown will start by the end of the year.

Jarran Reed (JUCO) will be in the Dline rotation.

D.J. Pettway, our wayward son, will be giving qbs nightmares.

Hand is too good to keep off the field.

Humphrey will see time on special teams. I wish we'd give him a chance as a returner, but I doubt it.

JC Hassenauer will probably make the two deep as a center. Our current backup center is a walk-on

Dominick Jackson will probably earn the right guard or right tackle spot. He is an absolute mauler.

Ty Flournoy Smith will see some time at H-back

JK Scott will probably be our punter since we had to use a backup quarterback to punt the ball during the spring game

Cameron Robinson will start at LT.

Cameron Sims will see some time at WR.

Tony Brown may start, he definitely should. Was the best CB at A-Day AND HE WAS IN A NO CONTACT JERSEY.

Hootie Jones is gonna be tough to keep off the field once he learns the playbook. Enrolling early was big for him. He has insane size at 6'2" 220lbs, I imagine that he's going to be a key cog on Special Teams though.

Jarran Reed was a starter in the Spring, but Jon Allen could and should overtake him. But Reed will rotate in a LOT.

Same with Pettway.

Da'Shawn Hand is too damn good to keep off the field, DESPITE how deep and awesome our front 7 is.

Also like Chatta said, Dom Jackson has the mean streak and talent to start at RG or RT. I'm thinking our best 2 on the right side would be Brown at RG and Dom at RT, but I'm not qualified to make that decision.

Definitely want some of what the LSU guys claiming all those tds for LSU wrs are smoking. Not happening. Didnt happen with Mett/Landry/Beckham but its gonna happen with an inexperienced qb and a boatload of inexperienced wrs? Ok

Auburn fans forget one thing when bossing up Williams, your qb can't pass. Excuse me if those guys slaughtering the porous Auburn secondary in the spring game doesn't make me a believer. Lets see them do it against teams with good secondary players and coaching. Auburns offense is simple to solve, slow down the run and make Marshall beat you solely with his arm. LSU did it last year and there's no reason they won't again.

As for impact freshmen for LSU and the impact based on who they are replacing

Harris-could start day 1-downgrade
Fournette-will rush for a grand-slight downgrade. Better talent than Hill but Hill was no slouch
Dupre-will play a lot-upgrade because he's not gonna start and our backups did basically nothing last year
Quinn-defnitely will play a lot and I can see him being the leading wr but Diarse and Dural will have something to say about that-upgrade unless he starts
Washington-I think he plays because the other options aren't that good. Desean Smith is the only other real pass catching option-upgrade because there's no room to downgrade
Valentine-will play quite a bit I think-upgrade again because our backups last year didn't really do anything
Garrett-will play but how much depends on Welter and Beckwith-upgrade because it can't be worse than last year
Paris-will play a lot even if not ready because our depth sucks-gonna say upgrade but more square
Adams-I think he can push for starter at some point-upgrade

Like I told your buddy, memphisplaya, we can talk again come Fall. I have watched Auburn Football for 40 years and Duke is probably the best WR since AU has had.
