And this makes up for the defections in the past few days?

I am not even 100% sure Johnson ends up at A&M and there are already rumors that Pope might not be 100% now as well..

A&M has taken a beating.. Kids are using them as a place holder or fallback at this point.

Didn't say it made up for the defections but let's be completely honest here:

Thompson lost= Pope is an athlete that can play safety or w/r

Addison (maybe)- Great player...played QB in high school-- Add Johnson # 1 w/r is state (major lean to A&M per almost every site)

Add Polo M. who is a major need at DL over the weekend.

Monroe-- For some reason was never really pursued heavy by Sumlin. Didn't call the kid until 3-4 weeks after being hired. Monroe wants to stay close to home...good for him.

It hurts to lose kids...no doubt but it is not like our class is completely melting down. Still will be a Top 15 class and maybe a top 3-4 class in the SEC.

Also add in the fact that Sumlin has three kids that are Top 25 for 2013 in the state of Texas. #1 QB in state,Stewart....Top 10 player in state in DT Golden, and Top 5 w/r in state, Griffen. Add in Lacouture who is a Top 50 player in the state along the DL.

We will be fine at the end of day and starting out STRONG fro 2013.

Um no. We had a disappointing season and switched coaches and kids decomitted. This isn't hard.

The placeholder argument is awful. No one accepts an A&M offer waiting for the coveted Tulane offer. Just a kid wanting to play close to home, no big deal.

Exactly. He was definitely driven away by the coaching change, which happens. Monroe and Thompson are too bad, but Addison is the one that hurts IMO. I thought he was one of the top players we had with Williams, Davis and Matthews.
