I've said for years that if MSU wants to take the next step in football the fanbase as a whole needs to take football more seriously.

You know what else they need to do? Stop hating Ole Miss so much and start focusing on being a fan of State.

Like Hugh Freeze said, we're not doing things out of hatred for somebody else; we're doing it out of love for Ole Miss.

Our school was founded out of spite of Ole Miss. We have to maintain tradition.

I've never hated Ole Miss. I guess because I haven't been a MSU fan my entire life. I grew up an Arkansas fan as a kid because my dad graduated from Arkansas. As I got older it felt wrong, due to me living in MS my whole life. I found myself pulling for both MS schools to win but never picked a side...then as I started being recruited in HS, Ole Miss was the first to recruit me and I started to become an Ole Miss fan just because I had met and known HDN and staff even before when they were at Arkansas and they were recruiting me.

Then as that ordeal went on and I never received an offer, I started really looking into both MSU and Ole Miss and what I wanted to pursue in life. I weighted my choice between Law or Agriculture. I was smart enough for Law and liked it, buy my true passion is farming and being outdoors.

All of my friends were MSU fans, so in HS and JUCO I made many trips to starkville on weekends and rarely went up to OM. I grew into the MSU family and found my true fandom, but have never found a real hatred for Ole Miss. Of course I want us to win, and to get the recruits to win, but Ole Miss is just as important to beat as is any other school. IMO.

ETA: On a side note.. I'm going down to my hunting camp in Issaqueana tomorrow to do some late season deer hunting and try to get an early start on the crappy.. Where are you from and where do you hunt in the Delta ?

And nobody respond with Outdoor Board dammit... It's just a question

Chris Jones is awesome and any SEC team would be lucky to have him.. Back on topic

I'm good friends with H. Gantz and J. Berry from Indianola... They're a good bit older than you though... I hunt in Marks and Charleston when I'm not drivin 3.5 hours down Highway 61 from Memphis to the Delta National Forest.. Just seein if you were from Panola or Tallahatchie county.

Clearly was going to flip until he found out that Oxford doesn't have a Chinese delivery place.

you can literally get anything take out in Oxford. Unless they stopped doing it, there was a group that would go get your food anywhere in Oxford for a small price.

There's only two Chinese places in Oxford and both are shitty buffets. If you want Asian gotta go to rice and spice and get that Thai.

It's not too late man. I've often been told I would "fit in" more as as state fan. I've never really understood it. I like to hunt. I love being outdoors. But i goddamn fricking hate mississippi state. Always have. My grandparents were farmers; my parents were educators. My parents, my sister, an my brother all hold degrees from ole miss. My heart led me to Ole miss. It sounds like your heart is trying to tell you something. You should listen to your heart. It's not too late. We can flip fans too.

My heart always leaned toward MSU. Only thing that made me interested in OM was the fact that they opened up my recruitment.

I fit in at MSU and all of my close friends from HS go here. But I fit in well in Oxford when I go up there also so I just don't hold any hatred toward y'all.
