All I know is people in Cincinnati are positively thrilled to have Tuberville, a major upgrade.

Yes, Butch tied for 1st his last two years as Cincinnati's coach and Tubbs finished 3rd last year. Clearly an upgrade finishing lower under Tubs.

I am glad you are so in-tune with the UC Bearcats.

Your troll is as weak as the OP's.

Family has had season tickets for 15 years for the Bearcats. Program was going downhill after Kelly. Considered dropping tickets the year before Butch left if he was going to stay. Couldn't be happier now.

LMAO at your family having season tickets to UC Football games during the Rick Minter era in CUSA. I believe you, I really do. Must have been 1 of 300 season ticket holder back then. Obviously, a select group.

He went 10-3 co-champs for the conference in the two years after Kelly. Decline?

I'll admit he recruits well. I want to see his coaching results.

I would gather he is aware of that
Eehhhhhhhhhhh

He did hire Thigpen and Martinez. Both not known for their "coaching" abilities.

Point taken...

Yes but that was not with players he recruited. Those players were Kelly's players. Jones was only at Cincy for 3 years.

And I love numbers but yeah Tubbs went 9-4 his first season as HC where Jones went 10-3 and 9-3 his last 2 seasons. But if we are comparing records of the 1st year at Cincy, Jones went 4-8 after Cincy coming off a 12-1 season. So far Tubs is an upgrade based on the numbers. Just saying

Actually his 1st year in 2010 he went 4-8 at Cincy and his 3rd year he went 9-3 he left before they won the bowl game. His record at cincy was 4-8, 10-3, and 9-3. So overall 23-14.

Oh my. You're right. 4-8. Dooley numbers. Seems like he turned it around after that huh?

Sell season tickets now TN fans. Cincy fans did and they ran him out of town.

Butch went 4-8 with Kelly's players. Bama phan wants it both ways.

Your argument collapsed on itself. This is why Bammers aren't engineers.

You guys misuse the numbers and when it is pointed out they were wrong you attack. Oh well we will see how many UT fans are still around once the season gets going. This time last year this site seem to have a good size group posting than many vanished.

I did hear that the AAC is looking to expand. Based on your arguments in this thread seems like a great fit for UT and Jones.

It would look much better if you actually knew the facts before posting your opinion as a fact. Cincy in 2011, the year butch went 10-3 only had 5 players that made the 3 deep that were recruited by butch. The next year when Butch went 9-3 before leaving only four on his players made the starting lineup. Every player that put up big numbers on both sides of the ball for Cincy in the 2 good years butch was there were all recruited under Kelly with maybe an exception here or there in mop up games against teams like Delaware St.

Nice try though

Oh, I will be here the entire time. Dont worry about me. UT has some major young talent. It isnt a matter of if, it is just a matter of when.

It will be interesting to see the Bama backlash after Saban fails to win a title in consecutive years.

So, let me get this straight. You don't think Butch Jones was a good coach at Cincinnati because he played older, more experienced players, because he won with those players, or because after a cursory look at rivals, he recruited better than his predecessor?

And I'm going to take a wild guess that you don't give Jones credit for the 2010 Cincinnati recruits even though he became the coach in December of 2009, right?

well, he did lose to derek dooley... was that b/c of his coaching or BK's players?... depends on what side of the argument you're on, I guess.
