Thompson looks really good.

Doesn't have Mack's explosion--Mack's much more of a quick twitch guy.

The reason Thompson is rated higher is because he's 2 or 3 inches taller than Mack.

Mack is legit as frick. His film is insane.

With that said, if you have time to kill, look up JC Copeland's high school tape. It's the craziest shite I've ever seen from a high school highlight tape.

I'll wait.

I watched the film. Trenton Thompson's film is everybit as good. Very similar players in that they like to get first step penetration and blow things up. The thing I like better about Trentons film is he reads screens and moves to the football no matter where it goes. You can tell he is a student of the game and understands penetration can sometimes be bad. Mack is explosive for his size. He will be very good from day 1. Nice get

Disagree.

Thompson's film looks like something you see every year. You don't see Mack's film each year.

Not saying Thompson won't be as good as or even better than Mack. But I'm not trading.

#2 player in the nation. Highest rated DT. Explosive DT film. No, not something you see every year.

Then Macks video is = unimpressive. If you put the 2 tapes beside each other the only real difference was they put mack at FB against lesser competition and let him go out there and run the football. If your talking penetration and you know....actual DT play. You compare the 2 our guy is rated above. Blame the 3 inches, blame whatever you want, but our boy is a beast.

How are you going to justify one but not the other when our guys film has him rated a solid 25 spots ahead of your guy.

This poster sufficiently dismantled the lesser competition argument.
quote:

You're joking, right?

Gladewater played four non-district games. Every single non-district opponent was an East Texas playoff team: Daingerfield, Pittsburg, Athens, and Atlanta.

Gladewater played in District 16-3A with Bullard, Gilmer, Gladewater, Henderson, Kilgore, Spring Hill, and Chapel Hill. Four teams made the playoffs: Kilgore, Chapel Hill, Gilmer, and Gladewater.

If you want to know why someone said that was the toughest district in the state, here's why. Here's how those teams fared in the playoffs:

1. Kilgore: won state in Division I.

2. Chapel Hill: lost in the regional finals in Division I. To district mate and state champion Kilgore.

3. Gilmer: lost in the regional semifinals in Division II to state champion Argyle.

4. Gladewater: lost in the regional finals in Division II to state champion Argyle.

But for the Argyle juggernaut (which sent at least three kids to BCS schools and whose only close games were the Gilmer win and the state title win over Fairfield), that district almost certainly produces two state champions.

If Daylon Mack's highlight tape is invalidated by his level of competition, then every bit of highlight tape on any prospect in the nation needs to be disregarded.

As mentioned, Thompson is probably 3 inches taller. That's why he's ranked higher.

Daron Payne is better than Mack.

Get off your fricking high horse.

As others have said, Leo Lewis' film is better than Mack's.

When you have people from 4 different fan bases putting his name out there you know he's legit.

Mack is barely a Top 5 DT next season. Meh.

Jesus. Link your Bama boy then.

People deny it because Mack's committed. Lewis isn't so everyone will naturally push him.

Malik's film is just as good as Lewis's.

Nothing on either Lewis or Thompson's film is as impressive as Mack running for a 60 yard TD. That cannot be disputed by anything on those guys' tape.

Yes.

That doesn't mean he's not a tremendous prospect. But in five years I won't remember his film. I'll never forget Mack's.

The last time I was this impressed was when I saw Clowney.

It's hard for me to believe it's been that long since I've seen film like this. That's why I'm searching.

He might play against good AAA teams but a good AAA team can't hold a candle to a good AAAAA team.

This division isn't typical 3A.

That's what they all say. Not saying Mack isn't going to be good, but his isn't the best this class.

Yeah, this isn't Georgia state football.

It's different.

I'm open here. I'm legitimately looking for better film.

fellow aggies dont disregard the Myles Garret effect. People knew he was good but after the Under Armor game everyone wanted him. Daylons a beast and everyone knows it but some think hes not the best DT. I figure he will also move up in 247 rankings throughout the year. As far as highlight videos go Daylons is the best ive seen in a long time.
