Because having 8 offensive players in the top 67 is a lot more impressive than having 8 in the top 247.

But you've only got 2 defensive players in the top 67 and since that's the new benchmark for a good class, what gives?

Counting 2012 and 2013 classes so far Bama has 8 defensive commitments ranked in the top 100 on 247, five of them are 5 stars.

Georgia has 6 and only one of them is a five star.

So changing the goal line again to help your argument. Nice, I like moving targets.

I think you'll find Mr. Johnny won't have it nearly as easy next year after a yr of ridiculous offensive production to break down on film...

The 2013 class is lighter on defense. The 2012 class was loaded.

At least you admit you're a one-man-show. I'll take Nick Saban every time in developing a defense to stop a particular player. Just as he did the second time around against Tim Tebow.

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Psh, we return pretty much everyone sans Lester, Dee, Jesse, and Square on D next year. Only inexperienced players will be Landon Collins and maybe Geno Smith, but he's been getting more PT lately.

Joeckel
Matthews
Swope
Michael
Melena
Moore

Not a 10 win team without JFF, but still probably an 8 or 9 win team.

You're missing a few names:

Evans
Williams (x2)
Harrison
Ogbuehi
Obioha
Ennis
Jenkins
Everett
Harris
Kennedy

If we're including current seniors:

Porter (McCannon's first INT of the year)
Stewart
Nealy (Barrett Jones' worst nightmare)
Terrell (forced Yeldon's only fumble)

Debatable. I know Scout sucks, but I believe they're the only site to do team rankings by position and they have LSU 3rd. LSU, Ole Miss (Liggins, Buchanon, Kincade), A&M (Stewart, Hill), and Alabama (Bateman, McLeod, Del Rio) all have legitimate arguements for having the best QB class in the country.

While it doesn't matter, 24/7 named our QB class the best in the nation. Without injuries to both of our QB's in their JR year they might have had a more interesting recruitment. Rettig is likely the top signal caller in California. Jennings is an Elite 11 QB.

You lost all credit when you threw in Liggins(he will never play QB), McLeod And a walkon.

Luke Del Rio was an Elite 11 participant. He's not your run-of-the-mill walkon.

And you lose all credit when you call Jennings an Elite 11 QB (wasn't selected as one of the top 11 QBs in the competition) while dismissing Del Rio for being a walk-on (was selected as one of the top 11 QBs)

Yeah because an Elite 11 competition that lasts a couple days says one QB is better than the other.

Jennings>Del Rio
Rettig>Bateman

Even if that was true, I'll take my chances with them being developed by Alabama over LSU's offensive staff.

Just pointing out that memphis undercut his own point about Jennings by dismissing Del Rio.

Rettig and Jennings are good QBs. I think Bateman is better and most of the recruiting services agree with me.

LSU has the best qb class in the nation, along with a stud jc wr, Mr football in la, and one of the nation's top tackles and one of the top tes.
