I assume you started this thread to make fun of Ridley and call him stupid.

His family is originally from Cuba and made the dangerous journey to America via a homemade watercraft. They got lost at sea for a good amount of time and he didn't start Kindergarden until he was 8. His brother, a Junior in high school, is already 18.

But keep thinking he's an idiot. He's going to be an early enrollee too.

Dillon Day was 19 while he played his senior year in HS, turned 20 freshman year. Thought you LSU fans could use something else to fan the flames

Probably something other than talent. Sims isn't exactly lacking talent. I mean just look at him. He's one of many physical specimens from this Freshmen class. With great hands.

Hopefully Foster gets more PT soon so he doesn't transfer. I'd rather play a less prepared, but more talented guy to keep him than lose him because of something else. I'm guessing his grades aren't that good or something, but that shouldn't matter. He came for football.

Apparently reading up about him: his family was originally from Cuba, and came to the US in the 80s. They were boat people. But something happened, and their boat got lost at sea. Luckily, they were found 3 years later, and brought to Miami safe and sound. They relocated from there. Good to hear about their happy ending....

Does he mean 90's, not 80s?, otherwise we have another Danny Almonte on our hands

Ridley Ends High School Career With A Bang

Five-star Alabama commit Calvin Ridley played his last high school game on Friday night and turned in another dominating performance in a 48-0 win over Sunrise (Fla.) Piper. On the night, Ridley had 7 catches7 for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns, with his last catch being a 40 yard touchdown.

Ridley ranks as the no. 12 overall prospect and no. 1 wide receiver in the 2015 cycle according to 247Sports.

Be glad when he gets to Bama.

He was at the game Sat. and hung out with Bama's 5 star QB commitment and other cruits.

With Coach Saban before the game. Bet he liked what he say with Cooper.

I've known very smart kids graduate from high school at 19+ due to poor circumstances. I knew several kids that were homeless at one time and missed massive amounts of school and had to be held back - but they finished. I've seen some held back due to a specific disability that has nothing to do with their athletic ability. Maybe they had a sickness at one time or lost close family members.

You don't know this kid's life - if you read it, it states that he has a guardian (where are his parents)? The guy has a chance to go to college and make something of himself.

Laugh at him all you want . . . but I applaud him.
