Seeing how only one scholarship is opening up after this season, how many commits do you think we should have at this point?

Does this mean that Tony Mitchell will be back?

It doesn't matter. By the time his ultimate fate is determined, this year's signing period will be long past. His scholarship won't be freed up until the 2013 class regardless of whether he is on the team next season or not.

Pollard and Luke Cothron would be ideal, plus rs that Walker kid from Florida.

If the decision has already been made that he won't return then Bama would have two scholarships to give rather than one. Scollie does not have to be available during signing period but at time signee enters school.

I can't imagine Grant would bring in another headache, just as he's getting rid of two big ones. Surely he's not that desperate?

Stop being obsessed with Cothron. He is not that good nor is he worth the baggage. Plus we can't sign 3 guys with only one scholarship open at the moment.

It hasn't been, or we would know about it. Mitchell's actions over the summer, should he choose to return to the team, will determine whether he is reinstated. No one with options is going to wait and see what happens with Mitchell. If the scholarship isn't there to give away in a month, no one will be taking it until 2013.

I think CAG knows that with the class he just signed, he needs to keep the momentum going. I think he is capable of "processing" someone if two Devonta Pollard type recruits wanted to sign. I also think that the decision regarding Mitchell has been made, but has not been announced. What could Mitchell do over the summer that he could not do this season? CAG is famously tight lipped.

Jason Carter committed to Ole Miss yesterday. Good get for them because I thought he'd be good here in time.

I laugh when I hear that Bama is looking at point guards. Bama has three PGs on scholarship, Releford (SO), Eblen (JR) and the dutch Redshirt FR. Bama doesn't need to sign a PG for 2 years.

Lacy can play point as well.

Alabama doesn't need to sign a PG for 2013 but we definitely need one for 2013.

There aren't two players like that out there who are considering us though. The Walker kid from Florida has potential, but he isn't the kind of player you make room for.

If Mitchell has already been informed that he is off the team for good, I can't imagine why there wouldn't have been a peep out of him on Facebook or Twitter. He's going to get a chance to earn his roster spot this offseason. If he doesn't do what he needs to do, oh well. Either way, we will be giving out no more than 1 scholarship this year assuming no one suffers any disastrous injury or idiotically declares for the draft.

I hope you are right and that TM does what he needs to do to get his house in order. Kid is an immense talent but he could squander it if he continues to act immaturely. Next year Bama would be better with TM than with any freshman Bama could sign.
