It seems like LSU has his ear. He and his family were in Baton Rouge last weekend on an unofficial visit instead of going to A&M's BBQ recruiting event. That is a bit of concern IMO.

Other than that he has been as solid as a verbal commitment in July can be.

He did an interview with an Arkansas reporter yesterday. Apparently we are talking to him as well which surprised me. I thought Kedrick James was our only target at TE.

I doubt anything comes of it from our end but I thought it was interesting nonetheless and it caught me off guard with how many coaches he's talking to. They're definitely putting on the hard sell.

quote:

Horry knows of Arkansas' reputation of using his position. "They utilize it like nobody else," he said. "That's what I like about them."

Horry said he's talking to offensive coordinator Dan Enos, defensive backs coach Paul Rhoads and tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. "They say I fit the system perfectly, and they want me and want me there," Horry said.

July commits normally soft. Like this kid a lot. Aggies got a monster in this kid. Great get.

A&M will likely honor his commitment, but they typically start recruiting the position the minute a kid starts taking visits.

Cameron is fairly new to the recruiting game as its really only been picking up for a few months. I don't think the staff will have too big an issue with some visits. Late visits, yeah.

I just saw an interview with him and I think he's very solid to A&M.

I know LSU wanted a TE in this class but I'm not sure that's still the case after they moved Caleb Roddy there this fall camp. I'm guessing they just go after Glen Beal and Mustapha Muhammad in next years class.

In a recent interview he was asked why he visited LSU. He said he thought he owed them a visit, and he liked it, but that "it wasn't close to A&M." After listening to that interview, I'm not even the slightest bit worried about losing him.

LSU is the last place a talented TE should want to go. They get even less balls their way than LSU's WR corp.

Well, you're not wrong. Horry is the kind of TE less has a man crush on though because he can turn him into what is essentially a 6th lineman ala Dillon Gordon. He seems solid to A&M at the moment though.
