His recruitment has gone from Bama and St Johns to being the perceived leaders, to MSU being the leader, to commiting to Auburn on an unofficial visit. This was all after his decommitment from Pitt

I don't think that really played a big role since he's from an Adidas AAU program.

I've heard Addidas is getting out of AAU and a lot of their top teams are looking to move to UA. Would make sense since a lot of their top players seem to be going to non Addidas schools.

LOL. Pearl's a terrific recruiter. But his hands were tied a bit before Under Armour became involved. This has frustrated him a bit (hence his flirtation with Memphis behind the scenes). Maybe UA's involvement will help him there. Avery appears as though he'll be a phenomenal recruiter as well. But to say that AAU involvement and shoe company involvement isn't critical to even these two guys isn't dealing with the reality of the times.

It plays a HUGE role. The word from the AAU scenes is that Under Armour is investing heavily in recruiting this year. As I said in my other post, Pearl's an outstanding recruiter, but even he can only do so much at that black hole without a little help from Under Armour.
At any rate, the SEC (outside of the already established Kentucky and Florida) have finally decided to invest in basketball. I expect we'll see it pay off soon, especially at Bama, AU, MSU, and LSU (if they can get any coaching).

In what way? Who are all in on for '16? You have nobody yet. For 2015 ya'll had the one 4* guy and then the 3 instate guys were skipped over by Pearl. Your class was 8th in the SEC and 47th in the country. Not that impressive. Pearl had a much better first class and he wasn't even able to talk to recruits himself until September.

First off, I want to say congratulations to all AU fans on landing Heron. He's a game changer that I was hoping we'd land. But your reply on Avery Johnson is ignorant as shite. Who judges a recruiter based on the class that is finishing up when he's hired? He kept all the committed recruits, added 3 transfers, including Nick King, and added 4* Eubanks who had no previous interest. That's pretty damn impressive under the circumstances. Also, if Pearl really didn't contact recruits until September, how can you consider that his class? And the fact that you don't know about us battling out Kansas for 5* Terrance Ferguson just lets us know you know nothing other than what our commit list says.
