Lol he hasn’t even decommitted from Tenneessee officially either. I speak to his father pretty regularly and have a very good grasp of where things stand.

He called Walt Wells and Butch Jones on Oct. 3 and decommitted and told them not to pursue him further. Not sure what today’s news does. Nothing new has happened re: Mays/TN in over a month.

He is in pure wait and see mode on Tennessee. All based on the hire.

This recruitment will be decided by when he takes that OV to Tennessee. If he takes it for the Vandy game he is likely UGA bound. If he waits until December and cancels the ND visit it is very very good news for Tennessee. Currie must get involved and limit OVs for this staff this month.

Didn't you predict Clemson earlier? So far, your grasp seems to be a little....loose?

Clemson was where Cade wanted to go when he called Tennessee to decommit. He knows the Knoxville kids on the team and they have been recruiting him longer than the UGA staff.

KM knows Pittman though from when he was at Tennessee and has pushed that over the last few weeks. CM's visit to UGA went very well over the weekend as well.

Are we going to pretend recruiting is static? Nothing changes more than these kids' minds. The only reason I am following this recruitment so closely is because I know the kid's dad.

I would say UGA is the team to beat here for sure but Tennessee's hire is extremely important as is when he takes his OV here.

Obviously if he signed tomorrow it would be UGA but this thing is a long way from over since Butch is still employed by Tennessee.

Here's my thing, though. You (presumably) knew that way back when you were calling Clemson and essentially implying that Bama, Notre Dame, and UGA were non-factors for Mays. If you didn't know that, why didn't his dad tell you about it? Seems like a pretty BIG detail to withhold from you. I'm asking just because you were pretty adamant that it was all Clemson and there was no shot for anyone else, yet when it becomes increasingly clear that this is not the case, suddenly it's "his dad knows Pittman". If true, this isn't a new thing and I find it interesting that either he didn't tell you or you chose not to share it.

I'm very jealous of Georgia right now honestly. Their team is excellent and their recruiting is even better.

I did know that but KM had been very skeptical about Tennessee's staff for a long time and every time other options were brought up Clemson seemed to be almost the default choice dating back to the spring and summer. Even when he called Tennessee's coaches last month Clemson was thought to be the destination. I figured he would make a push for UGA due to Pittman and Chaney to a lesser extent but I didn't think they would be able to overcome the relationship and previous connections Clemson had with Cade. UGA's winning over the last month has likely helped solidify things for Cade as well, although that is just speculation on my part.

I do know that UGA would be the odds on favorite now although I still maintain it's very hard to handicap Tennessee's position here until a hire is made.

Fair enough. From what I understand, it was the Mays family who reached out to UGA and set up this whole visit last weekend. I would think that says a lot about their interest. One of our posters also found a flight plan for a UGA plane to Knoxville on Sunday (perhaps because KM couldn't make the visit on Saturday... ). Would seem the two parties have been pretty busy.

247 says he takes his OVs for

tOSU - Nov 11
Clemson - Nov 18
Tennessee - Nov 25
Notre Dame - Dec 8
UGA - Dec 15

Now we all know that Dec 20-22 kicks off the first early signing period, and he's looking to EE.

Big ol' boy gonna look good in red & Black.

ETA - Dead period begins 12:01 am Dec 18 - Jan 3,2018.

Yes, that's the current schedule but there are some pushing for Currie to limit OVs by this staff so the next staff will have closer to a full compliment in December and January.

Tennessee is already pushing for Cade to move the OV to the Notre Dame weekend. If that doesn't happen I don't think he will be at Tennessee.

Given the pace that everything is moving in Knoxville (glacial), that would mean Butch has to be fired, and Rockstar Hire has to be named and likely have an OC/OL in place before Dec 18. All in the hopes of salvaging a single recruit on the pitch of 'Better days, they are a' comin'".

While that's not impossible, it's highly improbable. Literally the only scenario where I see that playing out to Tennessee's benefit would be if the K'ville fever dream of Gruden playing 73D Interdimensional Transgalactic Monopoly with an entire staff committed and ready to hit the ground in a damage control campaign that makes the D-day invasion look like a preschool parade WERE ACTUALLY TRUE.

I think we all know where this is going. I don't realistically see legit interest from Gruden unless between now and Dec 17, ESPN announces that Monday Night Football has been canceled, beginning with the 2018-19 season.

But you said 2 days ago....

Yet he decommits, but 2 days ago you acted like he hadn't/wouldn't, but again....

a very good grasp of where things stand.

And....

Nothing new has happened re: Mays/TN in over a month

But today everyone is leaning UGA...and less then a month ago (on page 1) you said....

Going to Clemson

He is going to Clemson as things currently stand.

Sounds like you might not have a really good relationship like you think...
