Visited tOSU Apparently Urban is really selling him on the fact that he would be buried on the depth chart at Tennessee.

Ohio State is worried about VOLS and UGA, especially UGA if he makes the visit to UGA coming up.

VOLS were very confident prior to the tOSU visit. Starting to get worried now. His dad wants him at Tennessee and Josh Malone is his best friend. Those are what Tennessee is trying to sell.

Decision coming in the next week or two.

Would love to land him. Our "in" is Rocker being chummy w/ his father. I still think he's a Vol. Our depth chart should be appealing, though. Losing 3 WRs to graduation and I assume that Mitchell will leave early if he has a decent year.

I am not that confident.

North So.
Malone Fr.
Pig Jr.
Preston Williams HSSr.
V. Pearson Jr.
Croom So.
J. Johnson Jr.
J. Smith So.
Ryan Jenkins Fr.
Wharton Fr.

That is our current WR depth chart. Zero seniors. North, Malone, Preston Williams, Pig, Pearson will be a tough lineup to crack.

Would almost assuredly redshirt if he came here and he is apparently hoping to play early.

I'm still leaning towards we land Jefferson but I'm not nearly as confident as I was a a couple of weeks ago. You're right about our 2015 WR depth chart being absolutely stacked and I would imagine it's got to hurt us at some point with recruits.

Here is some intel I gathered on the Ohio State visit....
-Tennessee was brought up a bunch during his visit. In particular how tight he is with current Vols WR Josh Malone.
-There seems to be some concern about the upcoming Georgia visit from the Buckeyes. They believe if he makes that trip to Athens, the Dawgs will surge and become a huge factor in his recruitment.
-UT has spoken with Van since the visit and apparently battling the "loaded WR corps" talk

Buck takes great offense when people call him a handler, but he influences these kids big time. Dooley only got one kid out of IFM (Jalen Reeves-Maybin) and that was no coincidence.

Buck was involved with Tiny and Stone also. He said Tiny was going to go to AU the night before signing day, but changed his mind.

Jefferson is announcing his commitment tomorrow. Looking like it may just be UGA.

Really trending our way. Can't believe we might actually swoop in and steal this guy. Won't believe it until I see it.

What's with UT trading WR with UGA? Da'Rick for Marlon Brown, Preston Williams for Van Jefferson. We got the better deal but still.

Seems like a lot more than hearsay. Either multiple people are trying to spice up his announcement or UGA is really pulling this off.

In which case, we're going to move up to #3 in the composite rankings on 247

Bama, TAMU, and UGA

If he do commit to UGA, he will be on High alert in the Official Flip Watch Thread.

I said this a while back but our WR depth chart was bound to hurt us at some point. Like Volfan said a few posts up, coaches are using that against us and I don't blame them honestly. We lose no one at WR after this year while adding Preston Williams to the core. Not an ideal situation for someone that wants early PT.

And there's no sour grapes coming from me. I wanted Jefferson badly but this isn't too surprising after what's been said the last couple of weeks.
Nice pickup for sure, UGA.

One thing about Van Jefferson, his dad was not only a good WR in NFL but has been an even better NFL receivers coach, he has good genes & a great mentor in his dad

It sucks to see him leave the state but if there's one position I'm not worried about recruiting, it's WR.
