Not a shocker. Bama doesn't usually get players from any sport from McGill

Why is that? We have a big time school in Arkansas that sends lots of kids out of state.

Neither Alabama nor Auburn were in Dunning's finalists. Not sure how hard either school recruited him. Good for Hogs though.

Seems Bama recruited him hard;

From articles on Dunning:

In the long term, Dunning’s commitment to the Hogs hurts Alabama some since Nate Oats had “heavily” recruited Dunning since offering him a scholarship in 2019.

Coming from Mobile, AL, Dunning is being heavily recruited by the University of Alabama as the Crimson Tide became the third school to extend him an offer in June of 2019.

“They were one of the first schools to see me and offer me,” he said. That really sticks out because I’m a big believer in the ones who were there first before you became big or started getting into things. The interest and the love, they really want me there.”

Those that actually follow Alabama basketball recruiting know that this simply isn't true. Dunning is a nice prospect, but does not really fit our style of play at all.

Yea, it isn't some sort of slight. We don't shoot mid-range jumpers and don't heavily target stretch players who can't shoot outside shots.

From Arkansas' SBNation site....

quote:

He isn’t much of a shooter from 3 at this point, but his midrange game is deadly.

We punish midrange jumpers with death and shoot a ton of 3's from positions 1-4 (and even 5 depending on who it is). If we are targeting a 6'6 guy he probably needs to have a long range shot.

Good get Hogs, not easy to steal a recruit from how Oates and Pearl are recruiting.
