Bashing Gus for not developing a QB for the next level is a legit gripe
who exactly, out of ALL of Gus' QBs since Arkansas and Tulsa, should Gus have gotten to the NFL? Which ones had legit NFL measureables and traits that could be turned into a top flight NFL QB? And out of those, how many of them did he get to coach personally from their frosh year all the way until they left school?
Truth is, he's had 3 JUCOs at Auburn (NM, Cam and Chris Todd), two QBs with no real talent (Trotter and Moseley) and then Kiehl Frazier was talented but that 1 year Gus wasn't there he absolutely train wrecked himself and he just feel apart trying to run a pro-style offense.
So again, who exactly has Gus failed to develop? Jeremy Johnson is his first legitimate NFL prospect that he's had a chance to truly groom for more than a year or 2.

This right here is insane. He's yet to start, but he's a "legimate" NFL prospect?
I at least waited for Jordan Jefferson to start a game before declaring him a future heisman winner.

Technically he has already started.

He'll probably have to wait two years at AU also. Malzahn has pretty much stated Sean White is next up at AU, granted I'm sure Narcisse will have play packages he'll be in for like Jeremy Johnson was early on.

Narcisse observed Feleipe Franks at LSU’s camp last week and saw the 2016 commit’s strong performance. When Narcisse informed the LSU staff of his decision, he mentioned Franks as a reason why he didn’t pick them.
He sees a better chance of winning the job at Auburn early in his career than he does at LSU. When Narcisse arrives at Auburn in 2017, he’ll enter competing with Sean White, Tyler Queen and Woody Barrett to replace Jeremy Johnson.
Scared of Franks but not of White.

2014 vs 2016 recruit/signee, so...

Has all the tools to reach the NFL as a QB. Great size and a big time arm. Every time he has played in a game at the college level, he has looked good. That is what makes him a prospect. A lot of people who know more than you or I would agree that he has NFL potential.

A LSU writer saying Narcisse sees earlier playing at Auburn could very well be viewed as LSU people making excuses for not getting him. It would be more credible if you linked a story where the kid actually said that himself

What happened to the QBs that Gus recruited out of high school while he was the OC and had total control of the offense at Auburn?
Serious question ... Wasn't Frazier one?

Frazier was one. Gus left by the time Frazier was ready to play. Frazier was then put in a Pro-Style offense, and burned out shortly after. He was put in a horrible situation under Chizik and Loffler.

Kiehl Frazier was the best chance we previously have had, but Gus wasn't his OC the 1 year Kiehl got to play. By then we were running the shitshow that was Loeffler's offense.

I can see that being a reason, but if he thinks he's beating out Sean White for the job after Jeremy Johnson, he's nuts. Narcisse won't start until he's a RS Fr or soph.

I think the point there is Franks is 2016, White is 2014...big difference for a 2017 kid.
Also keep in mind he went to LSU's Elite camp this last weekend and personally saw Franks put on a show which probably sealed the deal (funny how that camp probably worked against us getting Narcisse).

Is the implied assertion that Franks is heads and shoulders above Narcisse? I ask out of almost pure ignorance of their respective skills.

I'm not asserting anything. Narcisse told our coaches a reason he isn't choosing us is Franks, a 2016 recruit. He sees earlier playing time at Auburn, basically. Watching Franks this past weekend is what probably sealed the deal for you guys. He already liked you offense, and the fact there shouldn't be as stiff competition was icing on the cake. In pretty much any scenario he made the right decision for himself.

In intangibles yeah, but I'm pretty sure neither play under center in HS. There would be a learning curve for both. It's the closest you will find to an NFL offense. You can't just rely on talent alone like Gus's offense.

Yes, General consensus is that Franks is more talented. Albeit how much more talented has blossomed since Monday.
