Our 247 mod just said that this has been speculated for a while and that Auburn has put Mcgriff in contact with a JUCO.

He didn't decommit because he wanted to. He's 100% AU. AU coaches have kept a close eye on his grades, he can't get his ACT score high enough. So they are freeing up room because he will likely go the prep/JUCO route.

Grades casualty, and since Auburn is knocking on the door with a ton of recruits, the Auburn coaching staff talked to D'Anfernee McGriff about opening the spot up. The staff also supposedly discussed a plan for him in the future and set him up with a Junior College already.
Curious to see what position he plays in Junior College.

UF will happily take him as a sign and place if the grades are iffy. They have the space.

Depends on a lot of things. Supposedly ACT score is biggest limiting factor. If true and he can raise it, he should have a shot at qualifying for UF.
Also, prep school could be an option which would be a legit course of action. McGriff is a stud

Since you guys have like 10 committed recruits and are taking 2 and 3-stars, you have the space in your class to "sign" a kid that isn't going to qualify.
