He's 6'6", 204 lbs, and ran a 4.74 forty at the Houston Opening. Last season, he completed 63% of his passes for 1,478 yards, with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also ran for 263 yards, averaging 5.4 yards per carry.

Ole Miss offered him last Wednesday and is the only program in the conference to do such so far, though 247 shows Aggy might have some interest as well. In addition to Ole Miss, he's been offered by Tiger High (Memphis) and Texas State. Stellar list, I know, but it makes sense that Memphis would be after him as a potential Paxton Lynch type (Lynch is 6'7" with a 4.86 forty at the Combine).

His stats aren't too impressive per se, but he seems like he has the measureables to fit the tall, athletic QB mold a lot of programs are after these days.

I was wondering if anyone else has been following him or expects their school to offer him. I'd never heard of Pearland until we offered him, and I dunno know if he's stuck in a run-first offense or what.

Someone posted a thread on LSU's 247 board a few weeks back before we got our 2 QB commits and consensus was if we misse don the guys we ended up getting we'd love to see an offer go his way. Highlight film looks impressive, stats dont seem to show much though. You'd think if you have a real weapon at QB you'd want to throw it for more than 1500 yards. Classic trap of a lot of tall QBs is everyone thinks Ryan Mallett or Paxton Lynch and they more end up like Stephen Rivers.

I think this kid is one to watch though.

The coach that offered Lynch isn't the same coach that offered this guy.

His shuttle time is more impressive than his 40. That late game winning drive he had against Manvel was exciting to watch. I think he would be a good backup to Shea.

Well yeah. Thank God Fuente is at Va Tech now. Dude's a helluva coach. Doesn't mean Tiger High isn't trying to catch lightning in a bottle with the whole 6'6"+ mobile-ish QB thing though. Mike Norvell, their new coach, was Brock Osweiler's QB coach and OC during his senior year after all.

I know we've been recruiting Manvel pretty heavily the past few cycles, so it's nice to see we're hitting the Houston area.

A&M is looking hard at Blumrick. I like his tape and think we should offer. We will be taking 2 QBs this cycle and think he would be a great option. We are also looking at Jack Sears, Mac Jones, Ty Brock and Kellen Mond. Mond would be the prize. I'd like to see Mac Jones and Mond personally.

Aggies need to get a QB in the boat, then we can fish for the 2nd one until late in the process.

Anybody that isn't willing to compete for the job need not apply.

A&M offered today. I think he ends up at Ole Miss though.

Don't understand why he would want to come in a year behind Shea Patterson at OM.

Mazzone seems to like bigger QB's. May be the reason he backed off on Martell.

I expect Sumlin and Mazzone have talked with him about there being no entitlement and hopefully we are taking two QB's.

Shea will be 2 and done starting and by the time he leaves Ole Miss Blumrick would be entering his redshirt sophomore year with 3 years to play.

Most QB's are preferring a clear path to start prior to their redshirt sophomore season without depending on another guy to leave early. Patterson hasn't played a down yet.

Most guys are fine to wait it out. If they start young generally it doesnt end well. It's not an easy position to come in and start day 1 or even year 2 in the SEC. Not like Blumrick is a top recruit either so it would be silly for him to have the mindset wherever he goes he's going to play early. He's clearly a project, dude barely even throws the football in high school.

Also Patterson will leave as soon as he can, he's the most polished QB coming out of high school this year and it will only take 2 years of starting for him to impress NFL scouts enough to be a high draft pick. It's like he's years ahead of anyone else from this year in the development aspect.

The same was said about Jeff Driskel, Gunner Keil, Christian Hackenberg, Kyle Allen, and Josh Rosen. Only 1 may pan out, maybe.

Literally none of those guys are comparable. Lots of them in fact were simply "high potential" guys. Especially Driskell, Hackenberg, Keil...guys with all the physical tools but needed devlopment.

Patterson is one of those guys on another level when it comes to mechanics and development at this stage. I would put him in a completely different category than just about anyone. It's not the physical tools that impress you, it's the intangibles. He looks like a seasoned D1 QB coming into college. Now he's stepping into a program with a coach who makes just about any QB look pretty good.

Even if you think Patterson sticks around for 3 years starting at Ole Miss, Blumrick STILL gets to play down the line being 2 years behind him (redshirted). Patterson will play this season and start as a true sophomore and true junior in 2017 and 2018, even if he stays his senior season in 2019, Blumrick is looking at 2020 and 2021 as his seasons if he wins the job. Playing time isn't an issue.

Playing time is ALWAYS one of the many factors in a QB's selection of a school.

I have a very positive opinion of Blumrick, and any QB worth a dang is going to think he can go in and win the job early.

I believe Blumrick is easily a 4 star by the end of the season.

If a high school QB who throws about 150 passes a season and isn't heavily recruited is trying to demand playing time as a freshman then he's setting himself up to fail.

Most smart QBs these days aren't looking to start right away, and they realize they just aren't going to come in and start right away unless it's a pretty awful situation, which generally you don't want to get into in the first place. Look what happened with Allen and Murray for instance. Thrown to the fire and subsequently ran away from the program. The last thing he needs is A&M feeding him he can start as a freshman after Knight leaves and you just rinse/repeat your usual process.

No word of anybody demanding anything.

Believe whatever you can convince yourself of.
