Franks stepped up and claimed his spot at LSU. Shea followed his brother around and missed the boat. In the end, LSU and OM both ended up with good prospects.

I'm making fun of the LSU fans that are delusional enough to say that they didn't really want or need Patterson.

. No rational LSU fan would say "we didn't want him". He would be great to have and an excellent in state qb. He was always a package deal with his brother and LSU having Franks made the decision even easier.

I got as big a kick out of this as I did Shea committing.

You are the kind of poster who makes it worth comin the tRant every now and again. Please never stop being you.

You're the kind of poster who has no idea what's happening outside your own town.

You are usually a pretty good Ole Miss poster but you have been awfully rustled since signing day.

I doubt Ohio State offers him. He's not the style of quarterback Urban likes to have. He's got good size but Urban likes having bruiser quarterbacks who can run the ball. Shea isn't that.

LSU fans that follow recruiting would have liked to sign both, but it wasn't going to happen.

I personally think Franks has more upside, but Shea is obviously a guy who can come in and start pretty soon if needed.

In essence, LSU fans wanted Shea but did not need him thanks to Franks.

but it doesn't seem like everything with the family is above board.

They are basically leveraging Shea to the CFB team with the best coaching/admin offer for his brother. When the brother gets established in Oxford I have a feeling we will start hearing about Shea taking visits this fall.

I wonder how many OM fans think this commit will hold until next February.

Great Commit! He will be the best QB, not named Manning, in the last 50 years for the Rebs.

I doubt it too. They've got like 6 QB's on the roster right now.

After this past signing day, I'm not going to be super excited until he's enrolled and on campus. Did he commit early because he wants to be an early enrollee?

If he's six foot, then I'm JaMarcus Russell. The kid is an excellent QB, and a great get for Ole Miss; especially with the offense Freeze likes to run. But the kid is just about fully matured physically, and is 5'11"-6' (max) and 180lbs.

Still a great get, but no one should ever trust what the recruiting sites say about measurables. That said, Franks is every bit of 6'5" and 205lbs

True, but that is 10 months away.

I think he sticks this time, but December isn't that much sooner than February.

Wait, so you saying Shea wanted to go to Ole Miss and his brother got a job there.... to do what, help make Shea happy?

Look, you can't ask any questions on either boat because the OM fans act as if every fricking LSU fan is on suicide watch because he didn't pick LSU. LSU fans seem to act like they didn't want him because he picked OM over them. Bottom line is maybe the kid went where he knew he had the best shot at playing on day one and didn't see any competition to hinder that. Maybe he didn't want to battle to be the starter. Who in the frick knows!!!

In the end, I'm still an LSU fan and will always be one. We got a great QB coming in Franks and OM has one in Patterson. Now at LSU who knows what he could have been....oh well. But at OM, when he's the next Bo Wallace and never makes it to the big game....just relax and think of what could have been. Most fans do that every year anyway!!
PEACE!!

Congrats to Ole Miss, don't think LSU or Ole Miss fans are surprised.

Kid will do well.
