They're called OL on most teams.

Sounds solid.

quote:

"I caught up with Coach Ensminger and Coach Frank when I was up there for the game this past weekend," Pettigrew said. "They can't wait to get me in. They have talked to me before about how I can do it all for them, but now they are just focused on getting me better, so they talk more about what I do wrong than what I do right."

While Miles-coached teams have been known to ride multiple tight ends throughout the game, the main responsibility is always excelling as a blocker, and tight ends haven't posted big numbers in LSU's passing attack in recent years. But for Pettigrew, the opportunity is there - which he said was evidenced by the tight ends turning in big showings in the spring game.

"I have seen many film of tight ends wide open in the game, it’s just a failure on execution with getting them the ball," Pettigrew said. "But it was great seeing that the quarterbacks got the ball to the tight ends in the spring game. I'm really excited about that.

"The visit was another good one, and I really enjoyed myself. I am definitely happy with the decision to commit to LSU."

I can relate to this post as an Alabama fan. Blake Barnett and Cam Robinson had more receptions on A-Day than OJ Howard.

Maybe this is the year we discover the TE

That's terrible.

I really would have loved to have seen Howard in our offense. He would have had a field day.

It's sad that we can't get the god damn football to somebody who's at least 6'5 240 and should have some kind of advantage over both safeties and linebackers.

OJ is such a monster. I thought that he was going to have a huge impact against LSU this year. I believe he did have one long pass but that was it. He's going to have one hell of an NFL career. He's way underused at Bama.

He will have to play in the right system to star in the NFL. Too soft. I think we should have used him at WR, not TE.

I know Howard gets hyped a lot, but I never noticed the soft play. May be because I was paying attention more to yalls oline and running backs but that's new to me. Probably the reason DeSean Smith is just starting to get on the field, shedding that softness

Yep only difference is our unknowns are not
5* underperformers like Oj Howard.
