Congrats
I saw in an interview with al.com where James Lockhart said that this commitment may impact whether or not he has a spot:

Awesome! RTR. That is pretty crazy if he lost his spot. A top 100 player in a time where they need defense terribly

If we miss out on James, it will be due to Alabama being the recruiting machine that they are, I don't think this commitment will do much to be honest, because unless I missed something big, we plan on using Landis as an inside linebacker, not SDE

Lol this post is stupid. Nothing wrong with 3* kids. In fact, I know many of these guys that do the rankings feel as if all of the players outside the top 100 should be 3*. They say at that point they all need some development before they can contribute and the difference in the 150th player and the 350th is pretty marginal.

I don't know that he's destined for Mike, I think he's more a Sam. Either way, he doesn't have the size we're looking for at DE right now. Then again, he's still just 16, and doesn't turn 17 until August. He may grow into a DE.

Lockhart and Durham are being recruited for different positions.

Wouldn't get too hung up on Durham being only a 3 star. The kid is only 16 years old and has a lot of potential for more growth and physical development.

Von Miller right? When was he a 3 star and do you have any proof? Not that I doubt you just not sure that's accurate.

Hmmm very interesting. I didnt know that 247 was operational in 2007 since it started in 2010.
Interesting how they can give an evaluation 3 years before they start.

Thanks for clearing that up WestCoastAg.

then bring it up with them, under his high school profile he is a composite three star recruit on 247. write them a letter if you want. but im pretty sure you know what the composite is. ergo, three star recruit

What? Did you even look at the link you posted? Millers 243 lbs, he was listed at around 210 lbs his freshman season.

My point is Von was a 4* and to compare the two is comical. lol no one's mad at 247, im more disappointed you dont even look at your links before posting

I can honestly say, I didn't take a peek at his film before saying, "A&M took his commitment over Lockhart's possibly?" But, after watching his film HOLY... that kid is a badass and is a beast. Great pickup and definitely should be rated higher, no doubt!

We may lose Lockhart to Bama because they are Bama but we won't lose him because we don't have a spot. We will have to see how he feels once he gets home and Mom and Dad remind him just how far away Tuscaloosa is compared to CS though.

It's pretty clear though that the A&M staff saw something in Durham that they felt they needed to be aggressive in going after him and that's fine with me. I will take Sumlin's opinion over some dude on 247 trying to decide who is a 3 Star and who is a 4 Star anyday. After all, A&M had 2 First Round picks this year that were 3 Stars in Manziel and Evans.
