5 star SG Antonio Blakeney is trending more and more towards LSU. We also recently offered Noah Dickerson, a top 50 PF who plays at Montverde Academy with basketball messiah, Ben Simmons.
LSU could very possibly pull a class of
Ben Simmons
Antonio Blakeney
Elijah Thomas
Brandon Sampson
Noah Dickerson
Suck our cock Kentucky.

A Mizzou guys take on Blakeney.

Most of the national recruiting analysts don't seem to think so, however. And I tend to agree. It's highly unlikely that Mizzou even gets more than a casual look from Blakeney. As most seem to think that he's headed to Kentucky, Louisville or Florida State although LSU is making a strong late push.

Mizzou will either get good news or bad news next Monday. Montaque Gill-Caesar 4* SF will announce if he is going to re-classify to 2014 or remain in the 2015 class. He has been a 5* up until recently (bad AAU circuit???).
Mizzou hired his HS coach, Fulford, from Huntington Prep and he promptly visited Mizzou. MSU unsuccessfully tried to convince him to re-classify in the spring and has since moved on. UK supposedly has recruited him, but for 2015. I'm gonna drink the kool aid and say he's not having an announcement ceremony to stay he's staying in prep school and that he's gonna re-classify to 2014 and if that's the case, I think Mizzou is the most likely option. The Fulford hiring already paying off HUGE!!!

I'm curious to hear what some UK posters are hearing about Blakeney. I still think Kentucky is the team to beat here, but LSU's definitely making up ground.

Things have changed recently. Louisville is focused on Donovan Mitchell and Kentucky only wants Malik Newman. Jerry Meyer, 247's basketball recruiting head honcho, predicted Blakeney to LSU. Pretty sure he talked to him recently, but hasn't put out an article or anything.

I think that's pretty much what he was saying. Besides the fact that Mizzou has no shot despite having made his final whatever.

The biggest variable for Kentucky's class right now is players waiting to see who is and isn't coming back again.
I didn't get over to watch Blakeney play in the Super Showcase last weekend. But a good friend who is an AAU coach said Pitino was absolutely there to watch him (Newman, Monk, Tatum, King and some others were trying out for the U17 in Colorado so he was the top target there) and have every intention of pursuing him.
Kentucky hadn't really started pursuing him until a couple weeks ago (when he got his official offer) and they've been out to watch him in some capacity ever since. He also knows that UK is pursuing Jaylen Brown and Malik Newman. He says UK not coming on until late isn't a big deal, but we may not have gotten in there early enough. IMO right now he favors Louisville more than he does UK.
Meyer was the only one I had really seen say much about LSU. Not that I'm doubting it, he just didn't say much about the Tigers at the Showcase when he was interviewed.

Don't even bother following A&M basketball recruiting until/unless they change coaches.

Don't sleep on Malik Newman to Mississippi State.

Did Doral Moore take Diamond Stone's spot at the top of UK's board at center? Moore visited once this summer and we have a pretty good shot at landing his AAU teammate Danjel Purifoy. Obviously we didn't make his top 5 that he recently released but the ankle bracelet comes of Pearl the 24th and we may still be able to do something with him as long as UK isn't in the picture.

Cauley-Stein and the Harrison's have to be locks to enter the draft with good season and Karl Towns will be highly sought after because the NBA still over values big men. So that's 4. Lyles and Booker could jump, as could Marquise Lee and Dakari Johnson, but I think they'd all do better staying another year.

UL fans and writers have said that the staff prefers Mitchell over Blakeney and it might just be a case of Blakeney waiting too long to decide and losing his spot.

Y'all already have Charles Matthews committed too, and he projects at the 2 spot at the next level. I think it will be a battle either way, but it will be much more winnable for LSU if Cal gets Malik.

I'm kinda thinking Meyer talked to Antonio or someone close to Antonio off the record and that's given him the confidence to go all in on picking LSU.
Also, we just offered Jacob Evans. I know Bama really wanted him and just offered a few days ago.

Huge get by Mizzou. Michigan State put a huge push on him in the spring to re-classify to 2014 but couldn't convince him. UK was recruiting him though I don't know how hard or for which class. Regardless, the hiring of Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford is paying off huge dividends already.

I think he may have. He got an offer this weekend from UK.
