How is that different than a lot of prospects? I get there might be kids with better technique but you aren't getting a lot of polished products at DL from high school.

Anything can change on a day to day basis in recruiting, but as it stands, he's expected to commit to Bama publicly during or shortly after his OV next weekend (the 22nd-24th).

He's not visiting Bama this weekend anymore. FSU this weekend, Bama next.

He's thinking about visiting ole miss next weekend too. Just your typical JUCO kid. Jarren Reed was committed to us twice before he signed with Alabama.

The only thing that even puts us in there is distance. Mom has to be a big influence. Also, going to a 4-3 and having no one on the roster that has played WDE technique that Hoke wants to run could help, if he is motivated by playing time.

Mentioned it as a priority, that and being close to family and the fact his cousin played there all working for ya

Here's the thing - he doesn't have an OV scheduled, I don't know of an in-home that is up and coming, and Oregon doesn't really pursue kids and he seems like he wants to be lavished. I don't see it happening. Would love to be wrong.

Since Hoke was hired, he's chased DTs. Hoke's foundation for the defense will be centered on that.

He's been successful at a lot of stops. We need his recruiting energy. He's hitting the trail hard.

Just got word that the staff is doing an in home with Kongbo tomorrow. Trying to get that OV flipped from FSU to us.

Per a source, one factor that may work in Tennessee's favor for Kongbo is Daniel Bituli. Apparently the Bitulis and the Kongbos are from the same area in the Congo and Bituli's father has been touching base with Kongbo's family giving them some piece of mind that they will be a strong support system for him at Tennessee.

I had assumed that the Kongbo ship had sailed when he decommitted from Tennessee. The more I hear, the more I think Tennessee remains in a good spot.

Looks like Ole Miss may be in the lead here.

I wouldn't call it a lead.

Tennessee continues its pursuit of Jonathan Kongbo and while they won't receive a visit, his official was back in November, look for Tennessee to go all-in this week during Butch Jones' in-home. Multiple members of the staff are expected to visit with him and his family.

It will be worth watching his visit schedule over the next week. He has Florida State this weekend, at the request of Alabama and the Tide are hoping to have him on campus that last weekend. Washington and Oregon are still trying to have visits as well.

One thing that has helped Tennessee in their pursuit has been Daniel Bituli's family. Bituli's father and Kongbo's father have hit it off recently as they come from the same region in Africa and have connected on that level. It's an understatement that Bituli's father is trying to help the Vols in this one.

And for those that have counted out Tennessee, that's far from true. Sure, it's a long ways to go in this one, but the Vols are very much still in play.

VQ...why everyone downplays TN's chances here I don't know.

247 reporting he's eliminated Bama, Oregon and possibly Washington.

TN, FSU, Ole Miss or Southern Cal.

Then also just saw he may eliminate FSU instead of Washington and visit Southern Cal this weekend and Washington next.

AS I've thought on this recruitment for a while this will come down to TN and whoever turns out to be his favorite closer to home on the west coast.

Parents really pushing Washington.

Wait, I thought the kid was signing at Bama as of earlier this week? Now, they're finishing in sixth? Damn how times change.
