What were the Auburn fans expectations for him? On a serious note.

But he didn't, and we got the better QB and the better person.

I personally take a wait and see approach with every commit, but I'm not as into the recruitment of kids that just got their drivers licenses as others.

I said it when we picked him up. He will NEVER be the starting QB for Auburn.

Never

Redshirt and be the starter in 2 years...assuming he doesn't get into (update: more) trouble.

Morgan sucks on the field, but the kid is a class act and has never been arrested. Everyone knew that Pike was a headcase.

Well I guess I was the ONLY Auburn fan who thought he had a high potential to be a douchebag. Like I said earlier I ran into the guy at Bourbon St in AU. A doucher and alcohol aren't a good combo.

.
A longshot for any success. He acted like a total tool when I saw him.

Then no real loss if indeed it comes to that.

What a waste. His ego and sense of entitlement are bigger than his IQ.

Hopefully this will wake him up - a lot of talent to be pissing away

Redshirt, learn the offense, work hard, stop being a douchebag, possibly take over for Kiehl Frazier when he graduates or leaves for the NFL, and try to be a good teammate. He has talent.

None of that included him making a dumbass decision like he just has. I'm sure the coaches are irrate about his latest trouble.

All that being said, I don't think we'll ever get to see him unleash his full potential. If this continues, he will never be the starting quarterback, and will have trouble ever hitting the field.

Mallett got a PI before he became a starter, and he turned out alright.

Based on what I know I'm placing bets with the over under for a scholly release (initiated by him) as the summer before the 2014 season.

Brooks and Joker have both kicked guys off the team for similar shite. Curtis Pulley was set to start at QB that season when he got arrested (twice in a 24 hr period) and was booted before he even took a snap that season (that's how we ended up with Hartline as a starter pre-Morgan Newton). Joker sat Hartline for his last collegiate game (Compass Bowl vs. Pitt) because of a public intoxication and assault arrest.

We usually don't get the chance to downplay shite because our coaches tend to show guys the door when they do stupid shite (sometimes not even repetitevely).

And FTR, at least one of your guys claimed Pike could be All-SEC and All-American.

Okay. If he quits getting into trouble he still could.

Most Auburn fans were stoked about his commitment and thought he would be a great QB

BluegrassBelle beat me to it.

I've seen enough guys bust and enough hidden gems go 1st round to take what anyone says about a highschool committ possibly going all-SEC with 100 pounds of salt.

You can find a comment like that about ANY 4 or 5 star somewhere on these boards. It is really not noteworthy.

ETA: And you aren't addressing what I've posted. Everyone knows he's a douchebag but for yall to pretend yall didn't want his commit (and would have put up with the BS) is absurd. Preaching about his character is 100% bitter even if true, because yall would have put a cap on it just like most of us have.

That's about the same reaction for every recruit a school gets, Especially an Elite 11 QB. It's not like he'll get kicked of the team for this.
