The second season of Hannibal reminds me a lot of the Auburn bagman scandal.

A lot of red herrings and other false clues designed to distract from the real culprit...

I've always heard, from some AU alumni friends in Alabama, that back in Bo's days, mabe earlier, there was a big AU backer who owned cleaners all over the state. The way the $$$ was "bagged out" was a player was told to bring his clothes to a certain cleaners & when he picked them up, the money was in a pocket. Most of the alleged payments were of the "paid to perform" variety & Bo supposedly racked up. Rumors go that the Little General heard about it his first season & stopped it.Anyone know of any "facts"?

Wayne Hall was delivering the $$ when Doughboy got there. When he found out about it, he said that he told Hall that there would be no more pay outs...this is documented.

I also remember well the now former UGA players who had summer "jobs" with Georgia Crown.

I have no doubt about UGA athletes having "summer jobs" with GC back in the day.

And Don Leebern was one of their main sources of supply.

Leeburn was/is a big supporter but even he's not stupid enough to leave a trail leading back to himself when it comes to athletes and cars.Even
25 years ago.It would be like Lowder,Uncle Miltie or even the Yella Wood fatass tying themselves to
car dealership and high profile athletes

I'm assuming you read the updated article about how the auto purchasing deal works these days for athletes.

This is just a fantastic quote.

UGA's most famous bagman has got to be Don Leebern, CEO of Georgia/Alabama/Tennessee Crown Distributing, UGA Board of Regents, kanoodler of Suzanne Yoculan, and frequent, frequent customer of Bill Heard Chevrolet/Pontiac/GMC.

Is that where UGA got Hershel's black trans-am?

Only problem was the list of pay outs had not run their course. Tot inherited the list and Wayne told him the pay-outs had to made until the recipients were gone from the Plains.

Probably not. Leebern falls into the category mentioned in the article of the guy out in the open who donates massive amounts of money over the table and likes everyone to know about it. Not sure who our bagmen are but I am sure we have some. Yet...it's clear our bagmen suck compared to Ole Miss.

Your bagmen are obviously skimming off the top.
