Thing is, every year there are a bunch of 'young guys with great resumes' who end up mediocre or worse. Remember, for every Saban there's at least a dozen Derek Dooleys, Rick Neuheisels, Dennis Franchiones and Jim Donnans.

Hard for me to argue with that. Solid, above average but nowhere near "great", although Dye did manage four SEC titles (1 outright, 3 shared).

Unfortunately, I don't think the AU athletic program as currently constituted has the "corporate culture" it would take to attract a potentially great HC.
