Aren't those guys close to being eligible for Sr. citizen's discounts? That certainly puts your argument in context.

Tom Pagnozzi, Johnny Ray, and Cliff Lee. Kevin McReynolds also played at Arkansas but I'm not sure if he was ever an all-star, he was good though.

Dizzy Dean did not play at Arkansas, he was born in Arkansas.

They played at State in the mid 80's and MLB in the late 80's through the 90's. I grew up watching guys like Will Clark and Raffy play.

Who do you Hogs have other than LEE??????

Im still waiting for a name any name.

If you want to go on strictly number of players from each school to get on an MLB team (does not include just making it to triple A we have more...)

They had this guy:

Considered to be the worst ever to compile the stats he did, until it was learned he was using performance enhancing drugs to do it, then it all made sense...

And lived most of his adult life in Mississippi. He is actually in the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.

Why does it matter how many MLB All-Stars Arkansas has? Is this another thing to make MSU feel important?

Comparing programs

You guys were saying that Mississippi isn't a major baseball program in the SEC.

Im just stating the facts.

Its all they have, the current teams suck so they live off professionals produced, even though most are 20 years ago.

Appreciate it

The only one other than Lee I have ever heard of was Kevin McReynolds mainly because he played for the Jackson Mets back in the day before he made it to the bigs.

If your talking about historically, of course MSU is a major baseball program, but in recent history not so much. In the past 4 years you guys have been bad, especially in SEC play.

No you're not, because right now, Miss St is not a Major baseball program in the SEC.

This is along the lines of Notre Dame fans stating that the compete for the National Championship every year...

Weak argument

We actually have 7 former MSU players in the Majors including Papelbon.

Alan Johnson just got called up to the majors this weekend, Mitch Moreland had a great rookie year last fall for the Rangers, Paul Malholm is in the starting rotation for the Pirates, Craig Tatum is a back up catcher for the Reds, and Brandon Medders and Eddie Easily are also in the bigs.
