So is your argument that Chavis will turn Myles into a more well-rounded DE, or that he will tank his sack total and still get drafted?

I think this completely depends on your Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. Right now, Myles is too light to be anything but a pass rush specialist.

If he bulks up, he could run a similar route as Danielle Hunter, who had 73 tackles and 6 batted passes, but only 1.5 sacks.

If he maintains his current weight, he'll be more like Barkevious Mingo, who was a first round pick based on measurables despite only bringing down the QB 4.5 times as a Jr.

Chavis is a good coach, but he can't make chicken salad out of chicken shite.

Garrett will get drafted on measurables alone. You can expect a dip in his sack totals this season, as he will be asked to be an every down DE and not just a pass rusher.

Yeah he's more or less a freak.
But expanding on your comment, wouldn't this be a good thing for Myles considering the complaint last year was he could ONLY pass rush?

BTW, if you want to go by "current trends", how can you believe that aTm isn't also in a decline?

Because Garrett doesn't have the frame to be an every down DE in the league. He will likely be an OLD in a 3-4, or will be a pass rush specialist.

I feel like we addressed our needs in the best way we could:
Added defensive depth through recruiting and juco transfers.
Got injured players back.
Hired a damn good DC, arguably the best available.
Have a ridiculously favorable schedule next year, and our youth is that much older.

I have to admit, it is a really old fallback

but a rookie would have fallen for it

Lsu strives for titles.A&M doesnt. Your best season in 20 years (2012) is considered a failure at lsu( no division or conf title).

If lsu is declining then A&m is already rock bottom

Pointing it out is falling for it? That's not a real high aim for a troll, which explains why you're so bad at it.

Boom was the best available.

Chavis MAY now be the 3rd best in the conference. Though, if Smith at Arky continues to produce, his claim on 3rd will be hard to uphold.

This ship is barely a life raft now, and it's got a puncture. This place needs to go down in flames.

Eh. I'll reserve judgment on Smart until he flies with his own wings. Until then he's a figurehead as far as I'm concerned.

I agree, and had Boom typed out as the "arguable" one before omitting it lol.

AND?!?! We fired Snyder who was NEGATIVE 100million in conference, and may now sit at third?

We don't need the best in the conference, to be successful with our offense. If you don't believe that I don't know what to tell you lol

Sorry to hear that Wacker, but my intentions of this thread was discussion and I was met with trolls.

Although I expected them (honestly thought 'the gif' would be the first reply), I was counting on hearing a lot better arguments from the opposition.

I responded in kind, and nothing more.
