You are dead wrong. This is going to fail spectacularly.

I don't see how it's much different than what LSU is running right now.

then you don't really understand what you're looking at. leach coaches wide splits and a totally different offense than lsu. only similarities are that they both throw the ball downfield.

LOL

He’s going to get destroyed

They said they same thing when CUM brought his pointing and staring version of the vaunted Spread Option- offense of little brothers everywhere- to Gainesville. It wouldn't, couldn't, ever work in the SEC

If “they” did then they were stupid.

No running game, no defense and a severe talent disadvantage.

It’s going to fail. Its a certain as the sunrise. Please bookmark this post

It depends on Leach's staff budget and their DC hire. If he gets a solid DC coupled with his offense Leach will win and will beat the better teams in the conference every now and then.

I think his offense will work but unfortunately he's coming into a division where the top teams have some of the best offensive coaching and talent in the nation. He may spring an upset here or there but I don't know if he consistently wins shootouts against the likes of Alabama, LSU, Jimbo, and Kiffin. Heck, even Gus's gimmick offense will probably put up a lot of points if Leach's past defenses are any indication.

Well we have all wanted to find out. It may initially work but the thing is defenses will adjust to it but that's true of any passing scheme. Ultimately, any scheme comes down to execution.

System is inherently flawed and disadvantageous to the defense. He’s had only a very small handful of even decent defenses in his history as a HC. The DC matters very little

Mike Leach went to a cloud of dust school, OU, then TTU and changed an entire conference!

Leach has always struggled against great defenses. There is a lot of that in the SEC. Personally, he is the type of coach needed where recruiting isn’t a priority. Kiffin going to always have talent advantage in the state with his staff, but Leach schemes well

I’m looking forward to his antics, but his recruiting has always been sub-standard.

He will have about the same success as he had at Washington st

Them and miss state are both in similar positions:

Hard to recruit and bottom of the conference

Leach was 55-47 (36-36) at Wazzu. State should also be happy with that. Consistently averaging 7-8 wins with an occasional 9 or 10 win season

It is not his passing scheme that is the problem, it is his lack of consideration for his defenses.

I couldn't be happier for entertainment purposes, tbh. He's as fun as it gets. However the numbers show he's around .300 against top 50 defenses for his career and he'll have to play an average of 7-8 top 50 in the SEC typically. It'll be interesting to watch to see how it goes. Could be bumpy till he gets his actual players for his system.

Either way, this will be a fun time in the state of Mississippi
