I am not going to justify anything. I don't disagree with much of your post, but wanted to point out the dumbassery that was in it.

I seriously lolzed at that Arkansas comment.

But please, tell us more why you are happy he's gone. We genuinely enjoy it.

I'm gonna enjoy skull draggin you guys all the way down the field from the 6 yard line with under minute to go in the game.

Seriously I shed not a tear when I heard he was gone. He is a good coordinator, but no doubt in my mind he's also overrated.

I only wish you guys had taken Miles in a package deal.

Enjoy the off season.

Amazing Moves Yahoo is reporting that Chavis picked A&M Get ready to get stomped in Baton Rouge next year poor little cry baby kittens.

You better hope that happens. If it doesn't, then y'all have scooped Chavis and spent $1.7 million over 4 year for nothing. JC gained his rep playing against TX A&M. He won't have that resume builder anymore.

He is the hire y'all had to have. Grats on the move.

Dude Sumlin's status is definitely not up in the air. If you haven't noticed the Texas A&M administration is all in with building a top football program spending a half of a billion dollars on just the stadium. Sumlin now has the largest stadium in the SEC, nicest stadium in the SEC, the nicest locker rooms in the country, the nicest training rooms in the SEC, and a world class weight room with a world class nutrition center. It also appears that Sumlin will have the highest paid assistant coaches in the SEC soon if not already and can literally hire anyone that he wants.

Even in Texas, people want a return on their money. You can outspend every one, but a dry hole is a dry hole. After awhile, you just look stupid.

Given all what he wanted, Sumlin has few excuses left. His win/loss record is on a declining trend. Right after Thanksgiving and before the JC hire, there was a few fire Sumlin thread on several boards. You know the TX A&M AD was getting a few calls on wtf is happening.

I am not saying he can't do it. I am saying he has to reverse the trend next year. I do know TX A&M is playing catchup rather well and building for after Sumlin, for when ever he leaves.

Last 4 yrs: 8-0 SEC play ’11, to 6-2 in ‘12, 5-3 in ‘13 & 4-4 in ‘14. LSU downside - can't recruit/develop SEC QB, excluding Mett. Not Chavis' fault, tho contributed to SEC record. LSU- abundance of riches in La. However, it hasn't translated to Saban-like results. Chavis, has quirks in close, big games. UTenn fans dubbed him “3rd and Chavis”. Such as…. 2009 - Penn State 19 LSU 17 - 6:54 to go, LSU up 17-16. PSU goes 65 yds 12 plays over 5:57 to LSU 4. PSU 21 yd FG to lead 19-17. 2012 – BAMA 21 LSU 17 - 1:34 to go, LSU w/17-14 lead. BAMA gets ball at 28, goes 72 yds in 5 plays over 0:43 for go ahead TD. 2012 - Clemson 25 LSU 24 - 1:39 to go, LSU had 24-22 lead. Clemson gets ball at 20, goes 60 yds in 10 plays over 1:39 & kicks game winning 37 yard FG as time expired. 2013 - UGA 44 LSU 41 - 4:14 to go, LSU lead 41-37. UGA goes 75 yrds in 6 plays over 2:27 for go ahead TD. 2013 - Ole Miss 27 LSU 24 - 3:19 to go, game tied @ 24. OM gets ball at their 15, goes 61 yds in 13 plays over 3:17 & kicks go ahead 41 yard FG. 2014 – BAMA 20 LSU 13 OT - 0:50 to go, LSU w/13-10 lead. BAMA gets ball goes 55 yards in 9 plays over 0:50 & kicks a 37 yd FG to tie. In OT, BAMA scores TD & LSU nothing. 2014 - Notre Dame 31 LSU 28 - 5:41 left, tied at 28. ND goes 71 yards in 14 plays over 5:41 and kicks go ahead 32 yd FG. "

Oh and I can think of several he left out.

Isn't that what you guys said last year and the year before? Same results though. If you clowns only had some wins to go along with this speculative boasting. 3rd and Chavis guys...if you were watching Tuesday's game you know exactly what to expect for that 1.7m/yr.

If your opponent is within 7 and driving at the end of a game...you should expect the worst and be happy when it works out. Personally...I never got how Chavis could execute a perfect game plan for 58 minutes but would always fallback to that prevent BS when the game was on the line. That strategy always cost us a game or 2 and that makes it very challenging to win it all.

Chavis' entire career has been with teams that played ball control...power football. That's certainly not aTm so will he change his strategy? I haven't seen that from him while at LSU and it's been frustrating.

What your AD and HC do deserve credit for is an outstanding strategic move against your primary rival (field & recruiting). It does appear that our AD and HC allowed him to walk so we shall see what they have planned. I'm thinking that we will be paying that same ~1.7m for a new DC and we better see an improvement next year. If not, the decision NOT to match/retain Chavis is on them and they should be held accountable. If nothing else, this will definitely bring our rivalry to another level. That's a win/win.

Great move by your AD! Must feel good knowing that he's capable of strategic thinking. I guess it's LSU's turn so I'll head to the deer camp where I'll remain in a drunken stupor until this gets resolved.
