I have always heard it's state law in GA that UGA must play Georgia Southern every four years, doubt that changes anytime soon, if true

Big 10 hasn't yet made a decision - but FWIW they should probably stop playing FCS schools because they lose too many games to them

When everyone has mentioned that the Big 10 was going to stop playing ridiculously easy teams, I assumed that meant they weren't playing any more conference games.

I know this will sound more like Poli Board material, but once again the "media elite" expect the successful (SEC) to change, so that the unsuccessful (B1G) can compete.

Meh, frick that. When another conference even comes close to the strength of the SEC and having to play each other 8 times a year, then talk shite.
I do however believe all the SEC teams, especially the better SEC teams, should schedule at least 1 ranked OC opponent per year (or expected to be ranked/major program). It is good for the SEC as we do need to beat up on the other conferences some outside of just bowl season and the BCSNCG.

FCS schools would be in trouble without the pay days that come with traveling to a major program once or twice a year.

Well, after App State, it's probably a good idea. Plus, they can keep scheduling Kent State, Toledo, Akron, Buffalo, etc. with the same effect, so why bother?
ETA: That's Big 10 logic - we can't win on the field, but we'll do something trivial and smug like this to make ourselves feel better about our miserable existence.

If conferences stop playing the FCS schools then those schools could end up cutting football altogether. Where the hell would those scholarship football players go then? If the 85 scholly limit would still be in effect for the FBS schools, then there would be nowhere for the FCS football players.

I'm betting Sam Houston (NC Runner up in FCS last 2 years) would beat at least 3 or 4 Big 1G teams last year, maybe more. Big 1G schools typically lose at least one game a year to FCS teams.

I guess the SEC could drop the FCS schools and start scheduling Big10 schools, but that would be a drop in competition for many in the SEC.
