the SEC only expands into fertile recruiting grounds. hince mizzou and A&M. i expect next might be UNC/Duke and VA/VaTech. adds BBall schools and Northeastern presence.

Troll you? Was anything I said factually incorrect? No. The facts prove FSU has an elite baseball program, just as they prove SC does not win it all every time they reach the CWS. Just because you don't like these facts does not change them.
What facts don't I like?
FACT: USC has hardware.
FACT: FSU doesn't.
FACT: USC's all-time CWS record is 28-17.
FACT: FSU is 26-40.
I don't give a flying shite about FSU joining the conference, I merely questioned if FSU had an elite baseball program. I still contend that if they were in the SEC, their baseball program would be, consistently, no better than fourth, MAYBE third in the conference. That's not elite, to me.
To act like FSU has some kind of "elite" baseball program while tearing down USC's is as retarded as an Aggie reading a letter from Lattimore.

Is that why their coach is tied to job offers?

Would like to see it but won't happen. They bring no new revenue to the conference

They had their chance in 1991 when Arkansas joined and the SEC was actively looking at five other schools. They decided to pass.
Miami wasn't interested because they were trying to improve their basketball team while convincing the rest of the Big East to improve their football squads.
Texas and Texas A&M couldn't move due to in-state politics (the same ones that ended up forcing the Big 8 to take in Texas Tech and Baylor; fortunately A&M was finally able to shed Bevo's dead weight and come along).
South Carolina--who was also being considered but was probably at the bottom of the SEC's list--didn't waste any time and took the offer.

I'm on the fence about FSU in the SEC.
-I don't want to help them monetarily
-though it would be nice to get them to stop stealing tax payer money for their athletic department (they put classrooms in their stadium facade covering the erector set so that tax money could be used)
-I would like them to face a real schedule instead of NCSU, Wake, Duke, GT, Maryland, etc.
-I don't want their fans in the SEC though are as obnoxious as any SEC fan base and would fit in there if not excel

The expansion to add Missouri and A&M was to add fertile TV grounds. I agree that there is a correlation between TV sets and the number of available prospects, but TV sets drive realignment. The recruiting is just a bonus.

LSU, Bama, Carolina, and Georgia would not lose a game if each enjoyed FSU's current schedule! Aubies would lose to Clemson if not others ... AU not that good, just VERY lucky!
