Would you root for AU without Newton?

Question for non AU SEC fans:
Would you be more likely to root for AUburn tomorrow night if they didn't have an a-hole like Cam Newton at QB?
I for one would root for them if they didn't have Cam. I think having a glorified player like Tebow or Newton makes other teams fans less likely to pull for them. Most SEC fans outside LSU s I knew in '03 and '07 had no problem pulling for us in the Championship because we didn't have that "worshipped" by the media player. It was more of "Go SEC". We were a team and not a 1 man show.
Just cursious if others felt this way. discuss.

As stated but another poster it would be a moot point without out him. He's gettin paid and that's that.

frick the SEC. If Alabama or another SEC team I actually like isn't playing for it, i'm not gonna pull for them. It's as simple as that

No. However, I don't really root for other SEC teams, so it's not a big deal. I think Newton is a good kid though, and I root for him to be successful.
