The only way I see Saban not retiring at Bama is if they get hammered by NCAA sanctions. And there are legitimate reasons for people to root for Alabama. The best reason is the mindnumbing parity in sports today. In recent years we've seen 9-7 and 10-6 teams winning the Super Bowl, baseball teams with 88 wins being in the World Series ,nine different Stanley Cup champions in the last nine years Butler making back to back national championship games, and a nine-loss UCONN team winning a championship. Don't you want to see a dominant sports team for a change? Dynasties like the '90s Bulls, '90s Yankees, and early '90s Cowboys were great for their respective sports. It gave teams a measuring stick to compare themselves and make themselves better. We need more of types of teams in sports today.

One negative to Alabama repeating is the jealousy and envy would only continue to grow in LSU fans and I don't think it is possible for them to become more unbearable.

Too bad Nov 3rd after the beatdown, you won't have to worry about the repeat. Maybe win the division or conference first though..

See if UA can be champion of this conference more than once this century. Till then, well...tick tock

I'd love to have a video camera in the faces of some LSU fans from the rant if LSU manages to lose to 'Bama twice in the same calendar year.

THAT'S how you do it right.

Well 'calender year' though true, is stretching a bit. But yes, losing 11/3 will suck big time, no doubt.

Well, 'calendar year' is the basis for the insult, and it's really a unique opportunity to claim to have beaten the same team twice in 2012.

It's why the game is played.

For reference, though, I don't think the game is a 'sure thing' by any stretch of the imagination.
