Did the other LSU top rated DE Jared Allen overshadow him? I saw Allen got 2 sacks this year, his 4th year at LSU, that's awesome.
You must have not looked into the amount of injuries Jared Allen has accumulated during his tenure at LSU. So just quit with that shite.

What's up with all these new shitty gump posters? Tydelife and now this guy.

did I say they weren't? My point is that he could've thrived on our great defense as well

Do you know how any injuries Clowney had? But when he didn't play or didn't have a good game he was accused of being lazy.

Alabama? No, he is not a 3-4 DE nor a LB.
LSU? Maybe. I think that South Carolina was a perfect fit for him, but LSU would have been the same and he would have had more talent around him. So yeah, he probably would have been just a bit better there, but it is one of the handful of schools that could make that argument.

Yes because if you don't choose one of those two teams you don't want to compete for titles, have no work ethic, and obviously character issues. I also heard that they paid him to not go to Bama

Sam Montgomery is a really shitty example. He had a really good career at LSU, then couldn't stay motivated in the pros. If anything that shows our coaching staff can get the most out of a player.

Sam Montgomery admitted to taking plays off his last year at LSU right before the draft.... are you serious, I could google 10+ articles.

Yep. Its amazing how many still have us on their mind.
I guess losing 35-21 on the field and then losing the number 1 recruit to us has stuck in their craw

Blown waaaay out of proportion. He said after we were eliminated from the west it took the wind out of the whole team. His career speaks for itself.

Douches like the op would say jared allen wasnt hurt, he was just lazy, and waiting for a paycheck...

Apparently not long enough for Bama fans to stop bitching about missing out on Clowney
Posted on 3/14/14 at 10:59 am to LarrytheGolfer
Can really agree with that. SC fans made somewhat "excuses" when saying he only took plays off to prevent injuries because he seen the big paycheck coming. If he would've took plays off any where else, probably would've been disciplined.

Actually most USC fans disagree with the notion that Clowney took plays off, because we actually watched the games and based our opinion off of more than ESPN's propaganda and manufactured story of the season

This. ESPN created this monster just so that they could kill him, and the rest of the country bought into it.
Clowney was a force in every game this year. His presence dictated where the play was going to go, and really allowed USC's young linebacking corps to learn without being completely exposed. If Clowney's not on that team, they drop two or three more games, easily.
But Bama fans have had a hard time, for whatever reason, getting over Clowney not going there. Auburn fans have had the same with Lattimore. I don't really understand it. It's not like USC fans spend all their time pining for a past that never was with AJ Green or whatever.

Tell me about Cyrus Kouandjio and why he gave up at the Combine and the Pro Day?
Cyrus was no longer playing for Saban at those two events.

Bama won two National Titles during Clowney's three years, SC = 0. Seems to have worked out OK for Bama

Agree. DL coach Craig Kuligowski has taken lesser talents and turned them into draftable NFL commodites and taken a top talent like Sheldon Richardson and helped groom him into a product able to become NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. And there's no question Clowney underperformed his talent level with the Clucks.
That said, I think if the Rams stay put and draft Clowney at #2, they've got the right coaches to properly motivate / develop his tools in the NFL. And I honestly can't remember the last defensive player where coaching and team will be as critical to future NFL success.
If Clowney goes to a team with weak coaching and leadership, his bust percentage will go way, way up.
