What kind of leash is Saban on right now? Long? Short?

What event would make the Bama/Saban lovefest turn into the TN/Butch dumpster fire?

Surely it wouldn't be anywhere close to the situation Butch is in. Saban has won and got shite done. Butch, well.... Butch sucks...

Edit: I see Butch is now on tRant

Saban will get tired and quit long before his seat ever got hot.

Two straight .500 seasons or worse

There will be idiots any time, but most of our fans haven't forgotten the dark times.

Another thread of what if _____ (insert unbelievably unlikely scenario) happens. What would the melt be like, who would be fired, etc. These have become increasingly common on here and don't really make for good discussion IMO.

Their fans would react horribly and probably riot. That would be Saban's cue to get the hell out of dodge and take his recruits/staff/players with him.

That's the wet dream LSU fans have been predicting since 2008. Good thing for us we haven't gotten upset a single time since then, right?

It's such a fascinating question, I think Saban and staff should throw the game just to see what happens.

It's the only way to be sure.

seriously OP... Saban is the BEST coach in College Football... One game would not change that... Arkie had their chance last year and fumbled it away..

Oh, Bret is Fat...

If there was even a rumor he was on the Luke warm seat, heads would roll.
We'd be looking at a new AD, PREZ, BOT, etc.

Seems like most people think an overreacting fanbase is more likely to get Saban to leave than getting fired for win/loss record. That's a testament to how successful he's been.

And if Saban left, LSU officials would be there to greet him with a bouquet of flowers and promises having Les Miles cleared out by the end of the day.

If Bert can eat up enough clock, he might keep the game close.

I think the game will be closer than UGA/Bama last week. I don't know how he does it, but Bert keeps this team hyped and playing their hearts out even after all the losses. There's about a 1/100,000 chance the Hogs get a win though, it would take Arkansas playing a perfect game and Bama making several big mistakes.

Back to the OP - Saban wouldn't be let go for losing to any SEC team, even if he went 1-7 in the SEC. I think it would take Bama losing to 1 or more OOC cupcakes and having a down season then losing to an OOC cupcake the next season and showing ZERO improvement for his seat to even warm up. I agree with the poster above that said he'll most likely get tired of all the pressure and expectations and retire before that happens. That being said, there would be some crazy gumps coming out of the woodwork and calling for his head if they lost this weekend even. That's just how their crazy loudmouth faction is.
