Dak not leaving the pocket hardly any in the first half tells me the offense was throttled.

Why don't you just admit to the fact that the reason why you guys suck is because you lost all your starters and not because you "looked ahead".

So you have a new defensive coordinator but had the same scheme as last year?

That obviously makes a whole lot of sense...
Chris Wilson (last year's DC) and Manny Diaz were co-DCs in 2010. So, it kind of makes sense as in they coach similarly.

I meant beyond the usual respect you have for the opponent's QB. Hardy is talking as if LSU fans have some personal vendetta against the guy.

Not one bit, actually. I'm saying that a team can play down to an opponent one week and be explosive the next. You are basing our whole season outlook on the performance of one game. LSU fans did it last year after we struggled with UAB, and we got our shite together and manhandled LSU. I'm not saying we will win, but I would pump the breaks. You are delusional if you think that last night's game is our full potential.

This has nothing to do with looking ahead. You're simply putting words in my mouth.

That's basically what you're saying in a nutshell though

"Our guys didn't take this game seriously. They were looking ahead to the LSU game"

Not at all. We are saying that, just like last year, our OOC games are very bland. A ton of zone coverage and rarely sending blitzes. Keeps most of the packages designed to confuse opponents off film. The only thing you can really take away is lack of execution. The fumbles and dropped passes have to be cleaned up.

The game starting with a goal line fumble, then a TD return on KO, then a muffed punt, caused our defense to be on the field for the entire 1st quarter. Which was honestly just a shitty string of events, especially in hot and humid arse Hattiesburg.

What!?

You're the one acting unconcerned about a single player that was accountable for 42 TDs last year, and now you're crawfishing to a more sensible LSU fan.

cute <3

Defensive scheme is Mullen's. One of the guys said it in an interview last year. That the defense wouldn't change because it's Mullen's, which makes sense. That way you don't have to reinvent the wheel over one personnel change.

The defense was different when Diaz got there so Dan must have adopted Manny's defense. Or at least, that's the way I remember it.

If yall are both in Starkville next weekend come to my tailgate. I would love to see the dichotomy between a solid sensible LSU fan and a slobbering Cajun retard.

I'll come to your Tailgate. I'm totally different in person you'll be really disappointed. I'm about as rational an LSU fan as you'll find IRL

Are you bringing your girlfriend so you can lose her to another smarter, better looking and better behaved State guy?

We looked like shite in our first couple of cupcake games last year too. I'm not worried

No, you played the same team and shut them out, and I believe hung 50 on them too. I was at the game last night, state was not just going through the motions. They were just as fired up as USM. State had probably 40% of the seats, and the stadium wasn't really that loud, so there wasn't much of a HFA either. USM flat out just executed better. It wasn't jitters, the starters were backups last year for a reason. Spin it all you want but state dismantled this team last year and struggling against them is a huge red flag.

Some of what you about last year's game is true. We did score 49 on them but we struggled the first few drives into the red zone coming away with very little. As I recall, it was 7-0 end of 1st. We got cranked 2nd half. If you talk with anyone that knows anything about this year's Southern Miss team vs last year's team, they are night and day. That being said, I have no idea how good or bad our team will be this year. Bad news is, we could be as good as last year's but still have a worse record because from what I saw yesterday, most of the West teams are better than last year. I will know more next Sunday.
