Would Alabama have beaten Ole Miss as bad as UF did, w/o the 5 t/o's?

That seems a bit unrealistic to me. Borderline delusional, in fact.

The Ole Miss offense looked a lot better against the vaunted Tide defense than it did against UF's.

Ole Miss scored in the first quarter in BDS. They didn't score until the third quarter in BHG.

OM QB Kelly avg'd 10.3 ypp vs Alabama, and only 6.5 ypp vs Florida.

If Alabama had won, it would have been close. That is, if the butterfingered and cross-eyed Tide hadn't turned over the ball more times in one game than LSU has in six games.

The eyeball test says Florida is a better team than Alabama. It also says LSU has already beaten it's toughest opponent.

Just the facts.

Not that bad. Ole Miss was missing 3 starting OLs against UF.

This all happened weeks ago. You beat a good Florida team...no need to prop them up. Accept your victory and move on.

Fluke td

Bama still only lost by 6. Bama might not have crushed OM, but bama wouldve certainly won

Considering we start that many Freshmen on our OLine (or at least rotate them in), I don't think that it's an adequate comparison.

And yes, Alabama matches up with LSU very, very well.

Would Tunsil have taken that car back sooner if they had lost to Bama?

Anyone talking about missing OL when playing UF this year is just...

You guys are literally only saying this because they played you close. Had Alabama played Florida this year and got the beneficiary of playing a 2nd string QB at home, your opinion on Florida would be totally different.

They honestly didn't do a ton when you take out the TD that bounced off a helmet and the one where they had a couple lineman 5 yards downfield.

We gave them the ball with little work to do.

Yeah they got the ball on their first possession basically in the red zone already.

We returned a lot of the front 7, but you have to realize how young and inexperienced our secondary is. It was the first SEC start for Fitzpatrick and Humphrey. It was the first start at Safety for Eddie Jackson and Geno Smith. They are just getting better.

Also playing from behind really affected the play calling. I think we passed the damn ball around 50 times.

I honestly thought we were going to lose that game as soon as I saw that Bateman was starting.

Bama was unsettled at QB. Cooper Bateman started against Ole Miss. Coker is undefeated as a starter.

Does aTm lose to Bama if Allen doesn't shite the bed and throw 3 pick 6s?

Turnovers are a part of football. Is the amount committed by Bama against Ole Miss an inordinate, relatively unlikely number of turnovers? Yes, but it's kind of silly to not give Ole Miss any credit for making plays. Also, an onside kick is a highly improbable event. Should we not give Bama credit for executing it ridiculously well?

Ole Miss moved the ball well enough offensively to garner over 400 yards oftentimes with a short field. Kelly had over 8 YPA if you take out the "fluke" pass. Ole Miss had 8 penalties to Bama's 4.

Does our special teams unit shite the bed as bad in this dream scenario?

I've been thinking about this some since Saturday. I think Bama still wins by adjusting accordingly, but as it stands, they needed every one of them to win.

It is definitely interesting to put that game up against the ole miss game and see the varying opinions.

Both teams match up perfectly against each other, imo.

I guess there's nothing left to discuss then. The championship is yours it seems. Let's just call it a year.

Unfortunately, neutral national media don't agree with idiots:

Headline of article from ESPN:

quote:

Alabama is still the SEC's alpha dog

And this about the Ole Miss game:

quote:

There was a Week 3 loss to Ole Miss, a game Alabama dominated in the stat sheet except for two categories: turnover margin (minus-5) and final score (43-37).
