Can Fran be considered? I know he did OK at Bama with DuBose's recruits, be he destroyed our program. And he was an SEC coach.

Rod Dowhower. In two seasons he beat La Tech, Kentucky, UAB and North Texas. At least with Woody you never knew when he was going to blitz 11 so you had to stay on your toes.

Rod Dowhower.

I agree with that. Woody wasn't awful. Rod was awful

John Smith (...nucking futz)
Brad Scott (tried to destroy USC from the inside, closet Tater)
Derek Dooley (Really bad product for what it used to be)
Ed Orgeron (didn't he only win 10 games in 3 years?)
Jennings Bryan Whitworth (probably the biggest b/c of what he had to work with at that program)

Fixed it for you

Croom was just along for the ride. Had we not scored all those defensive TD's that season to save Croom's sorryass offense- we would have never made a bowl.

Crxxms was a pathetic coach and I can't believe all you stupid fricks fall in line right behind ESPN because that is what they say.

If you'd calm down you would understand that people in this thread are saying he shouldn't have been fired, they are just saying that he can't be considered as a "Worst of All-Time in SEC History" because he had several "signature wins" and won a bowl game.

Curley Hallman never even made a bowl game at LSU in 4 or 5 years in the 90s, and this Ears fella at Alabama must have been in a category below suck.

Charlie Pell at Florida would fall in the top 10.

I don't think going from mediocre and irrelevant to slightly more mediocre and irrelevant can be described as destroying a program. RC was 21-15 during his last three years before Fran.

0-10-0 in 1955
2-7-1 in 1956

Curley got all his cred by beating Bama & Stallings in Stalling's 1st game at Bama. It was a fluke. I was there.

LSU never opened a season with Bama. The game that LSU beat Curley was the year after the Bama national title. Bama had a 22 or 23 game unbeaten streak (had a tie somewhere in there), and LSU, not even a .500 team went in to Tuscaloosa and won.
