Before this game was even announced, I had a dream that the Iron Bowl was played in the infield at Talladega while the race was going. It was equal parts terrifying and amazing.
Given the debauchery that occurs on the infield at Dega I could be down with that. Auburn and Bama chapters of Tri-Delt having a pole dance contest .

Weren't the UT faithful saying there would be a HUGE video board that everyone could see?

That looks about as big as the Jumbotron in the Pmac.

on TV, but would be horrible to be there in person. Crowd noise will seem muted and the filed is a looooong way from the stands.

Will it?

omce the cameras get out that far away, I think it kind of takes away from watching on TV--always thought games broadcast from OSU, UM, or Nebraska looked kind of odd because of the camera angle.

Coaches up in the box might have a difficult time telling what the heck is going on too.

I get the gimmick of it all but as a fan that's going to be a miserable viewing experience.

ow the hell are you supposed to see all the 3-and-outs from up there?

Doesn't matter. Even from 200 yards away there will be fans yelling "he's holding!! on every other play.

Wow.

Bristol is 0.533 miles around. Atlanta is 1.538 or so. Daytona is 2.5 and Talladega is 2.66 miles.

But the good news is they don't have to go around Bristol 1000 times. Races on tracks less than a mile, the distance is counted in laps (Food City 500 at Bristol is 500 laps/250ish miles). Tracks of a mile or more are counted in miles (Daytona 500 is 500 miles/200 laps).

Back to game discussion...

We are in the Kulwicki Terrace for Saturday night. I am under no illusion that I will be able to see anything, even with a good set of binoculars.

This game is a circus act that someone created because they knew they could dupe goofy people into a combined Racin-Football promo.

There's one born every minute.
