that would be a bitter way to watch your team play. At least for me, while it was just 2 bad teams, at least weather wasn't bad. And while I like Memphis, I'm not a huge fan so it wasn't super painful to watch.

And Dmagic, that really was just a horribly played football game. It was like 2 already bad teams, that both just happened to play a bad game(by their standards) on the same day. At least while 9-6 sounds like an ugly game, it had two of the all time great defenses.

2008 Tennessee @ Auburn

Only time I've ever seen an AU win and felt like they lost. Brutally hot, and the fanbase already knew at that point that the team was in big trouble offensively.

The blowouts were tough, I was numb to it though.

My worst may be 2001 UNC in the Peach Bowl.

Let's see

2008
Arky St - 18
A&M - 14

It really sucked knowing Sherman wasn't going to be the guy to really lead A&M from the mire right from the get go. This A&M team had multiple future NFL players on offense and could only muster 14 points in the first half. It was a look into the future of Mike Sherman play calling and it wasn't pretty.

A&M probably would have blown out Arky State if they had just played to their strengths and run the ball right at them but instead Sherman was determined to have a balanced offense which led to several sacks and picks from Steven McGee who hadn't been asked to pass near as much under previous coach Fran.

1994
SMU - 21
A&M - 21
(in San Antonio)

An undefeated season in a probation year was further marred by an inexplicable tie to a shitty SMU squad that had no business being in the game. Classic case of a team looking ahead (Texas was the next week) and not taking an opponent seriously.

The Alamo Dome also had awful acoustics in the upper deck at that time so all you could hear from the PA announcer the entire game was Charlie Brown adult speak "Waa waa waa was waaaaaaaa"

1990
Baylor - 20
A&M - 20

because frick Baylor.

2004 Cotton Bowl
Tennessee - 38
A&M - 7

I was already not to enamored with Fran due to the 77-0 embarrassment to OU the previous year but here is where I knew I wanted him gone. The team looked totally unprepared, Fran seemed to make zero adjustments throughout, and I had to hear Rocky Top 400 million times.

It did not help that the game was at 10am CST, I was hung over as hell, and had just learned Fran was getting a raise and an extension for a 7-4 regular season (w/first loss to Baylor since the 80s) that only ended in a Cotton Bowl b/c the Big 12 was down and the Cotton knew Aggies would travel better than an 8-3 Texas Tech who beat us or the 8-4 Big 12 North Champ Colorado who had just been thumped by OU in the Big 12 title game.

1998
A&M - 24
Texas - 26

I could have gone with RC's last game which was a 50-20 beat down in Austin but this one was so much worse. Going into the game A&M was ranked #6 and already the Big 12 South champs en route to playing then #2 Kansas State in the Big 12 Championship with an (extremely) outside shot at making the first BCS title game.

I had an extra ticket I couldn't unload so I gave it to one of my friends. His dad had gone to Texas but he wasn't much of a football fan. He didn't even know Ricky Williams was close to setting the rushing record. The whole ride down from Tyler to Austin he talked about how little he cared about football and how A&M was going to wreck Texas.

Instead, Texas was game and Ricky broke the rushing record even though he had gotten lucky and been ruled down on a fumble a couple plays before that would have pretty much ended the game. Texas won the game late and I had to ride back to Tyler that night with a person who was suddenly the biggest Longhorn fan around. He talked shite the ENTIRE ride back.

Non-sec or college, but we had a 1st round playoff game a couple of years ago against Kerville (Tx) Tivy.. where JFF is from. This was after he graduated.

It was probably 25 at gametime, on metal bleachers, and our coach (and team) sucked. We got down 28-0 5 minutes into that game. I've never left a football game eary but that one just about got to me.

Tivy Fight Never Dies, but I wanted to kill someone that night.

That's pretty shitty of him. Would of been last tickets I gave him.

Um, yes?
That would be but one of countless pieces of evidence, pulled from the Franchione era of horror.
Thankfully that game (such an inappropriate word) occurred in Oklahoma, and I didn't make the roadie.
So it doesn't qualify for this thread.

I was at that game. Dang, but you LSU fans were an insane bunch. I think y'all losing saved the Dome (for awhile anyway). Thought you guys were ready to riot and tear down the stadium if you'd won.

I thought we were going to smash yall. My group was pumped about tearing up ATL after the game, one last big hurrah before finals.

We drove straight from the Georgia Dome back to BR after the game

I don't think I have seen so many people leave a game early (couldn't blame them, either).

I was going to say any SEC game Auburn played last year, but got to go with the 2003 home opener against USC. Auburn was preseason ranked #1, it was roughly the temperature of the Sun, we lost our tailgating spot by the Allison Physics bldg, and USC absolutely skull fricked us.

Were they #1? Couldn't remember, but I do remember that being Leinart's first start. Also, they had Bush/Mike Williams.

I can't remember the year, maybe it was 2001 or 2002? But it was the Iron bowl in T-Town that Auburn won 9-0. It was a rainy cold miserable day; Alabama played like shite, Auburn played a little less like shite. Basically it was a dud of a game played in shitty weather. On top of it all I traveled from Pennsylvania to watch it. That game was practically lifeless, everything about it was a dud.

I think it was SI that had us ranked #1.

Yeah, I was concerned about getting out of that stadium alive if we'd lost. Figured an LSU fan would be wearing my skin as a trophy or something.

Very impressive fan base.

Fortunately for my skin, though, most LSU fans had exited before the game was over. Saved my life.

3-2 was bad but I wasn't there

I'd say 2011 iron bowl or 2007 USF...iron bowl we knew what was about to happen but USF when he caught that TD to win in OT, I've never heard an entire stadium sigh at the same time like that

I really do feel sorry for Auburn fans about that. That would of been just brutal to watch. I dread the year LSU has a season like that. Luckily 98-99 was senior year high school, and freshman at college. So there was enough going on as is.
