The administration really effed up with that coaching "search". The dude had been a perennial defensive line coach for his whole career, spends one season as the defensive coordinator, and then is promoted to head coach after Stallings resigned.

Despite Bear Bryant's advice to the contrary, Steve Sloan left Lubbock for Oxford just to get closer to Tuscaloosa.
Ole Miss had a slough of unsuccessful HCs between Vaught and Freeze, but Sloan's performance in the SEC was so bad that by November I gave away my student tickets and spent Saturdays squirrel hunting.

This one is really tough for Auburn fans from the 90s forward.
Chizik is the worst coach overall except he won a championship.
Bowden was the toughest to like but he might be the best gamed coach Auburn has ever had.
Tubs is a damn good 8 or 9 win coach.
Right now I will go with Malzahn as the worst coach since the early 90s but he is also still a young coach that should have time to figure it out except he realistically doesn't have the time.

The question was the worst football coach at your program. So he could win a few championships as a chicken, and it still wouldn't change the fact that he was a complete failure at Florida. Prepare yourself for a disappointing few years, because Muschamp apparently learned nothing. He simply put the band back together and brought them to Columbia.

Agreed. Fran was absolutely the worst coach in our history. He set our program back a decade.
