Losing to State in Starkville and having massive headache from the cowbells on the 3 hour drive home.

LSU at UGA 2004

It was going so well...
Great college town, beautiful campus, UGA girls...

Then, it all turned on a dime...
Drunk UGA punk at gate (you know the one...every SEC team has him(s))
Lost cell phone in stadium
UGA handed Saban his azz

If I did not stop that evening early, was destined to go home with a cross-dresser...kidding

Saban the heads to the NFL. Good times.

I remember the storm delayed game

I was there. I didn't see any fights or arrests. I remember parking next to a SC tailgate and thinking "here we go". I get out ready for some shite talking and this sweet older lady says "come over here darlin' and get a pimento cheese sammich". She completely disarmed me and I was treated well.

There were three well publisized brawls inside of the stadium during the storm delay. If I remember correctly the worst of them occurred on the upper level concourse South Endzone where eight UGA fans were arrested, one of them a female. That one started when a group of Dawgs fans got in the faces of some Gamecoxk fans and were barking in their faces then someone got slapped and the fight was on and someone slipped and a skull got cracked or something. I remember the trial but not all of the details except that one UGA fan did some jail time for assault.

Game was nip and tuck, all the fans having to mesh together in the heat, it was bound to happen. Come to think of it another of the brawls happened in the old men's restroom lower level East Side south end and someone got tased in that one and pissed all over himself before being arrested. Then he claimed police brutality and his attorney tried to argue that he should not have been tased on the wet tile floor while he was wet from the rain. Judge didn't care ... he was a USC law school grad. They made a big deal out of that.

I've really only had 2 bad experiences after games.
At Mississippi State in 07 and at home against UGA in 07. At State, we had way too many people run right up to us and shake those damn cowbells in our face and had about 4 people try to pick a fight with us. Strangely, the MSU fans were much nicer after they lost in 09. Not to mention it took about 2 hours to even get off campus. After the UGA game, there were about 8 UGA fans tearing up people's shite on the quad.

Why the frick would I make this up? I have been to Knoxville, Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa, etc. and never had a problem. The difference between them and you is they act like they have won a big game before because...well they have won a big game before.

We also left in the 3rd quarter and were by ourselves walking through the fairgrounds so we were easy targets for all the drunk assholes. I had a blast before the game and I know that it was a small minority of the fans, but it only takes 1 group of people crossing the line to ruin the trip.

Columbia, SC 2009. Worst winners and rudest fans I have ever seen.

Let's hope they can learn how to win.

I got payback for Jacksonville though. Next year. Friend and I stole license plates off of nine different Georgia cars. I know, dick move. But I wanted revenge and was 19.

Every single year I have a bad experience in Jacksonville...

Exhibit A) my grandfather was knocking on death's door but he wanted so badly to go to JAX for the game one last time so we made it happen. Got a disabled parking permit, got him in the game ok, get back to the car, and all four tires are slashed. We had to wait a very long time to find some other way out of there and back to our hotel. Horrible.

B) I get groped by a florida fan almost every year. Trashy.

C) I have grown up in Florida so I have many friends that attend the university. My best friend, a UF student, and I made plans to meet up at halftime. As I'm waiting for her on the edge of the florida section, I have one fully grown man walk up to me and belch rather loudly in my face and another one walk up and stomp his heel into the top of my foot so deliberately that it drew blood and I had trouble walking until the bruise completely healed. I decked that guy in the face, though.

Florida fans can be really tacky.

UF consistently is my worse, like you, and I have plenty of stories as well with it recently being limited to a gator lady pouring her beer on a group of us cause we were doing our awesome "whats that coming down the track" chant and a beer bottle tossed at my head from a truck

But based off of one experience it was definitely 2012 USCe. Them suckers have a lot of pent up aggression. And their stadium walls aren't nearly as punchable as Sanford

uf fans enjoy throwing full beers at people, the last time i was in gville someone threw a beer can at me and i picked it up and was going to dent his car with it until the guy begged me to not do it because it was his friend that threw the can. I showed him mercy and didn't do it but after the game i really wish i had since we lost.

Agreed. I was w/ 40+ UGA fans over the course of the day/game/evening and aside from one who got tossed out for sneaking liquor into the stadium no one brought up being treated poorly. I get that a few boozy fans yelling at you can make you feel uncomfortable, but UGA fans on the Rant have mythologized this experience into being something roughly akin to surviving Thunderdome.

I've never seen our fans, on the whole, treat any visitors like UGA fans here are claiming. Not even Clemson fans. Seems like a lot of sore losers who aren't used to taking an L in Columbia (especially not in that fashion) grasping at whatever negatives they can to assuage their egos.

For the record, I love Athens. Favorite road trip in the SEC. But next time y'all put an arse-whipping on us look around at how some of the shadier elements of your fanbase treat the visitors. Nothing anyone should be unable to handle, but it might give y'all a little perspective on your 2012 Columbia experience.

You don't want to go there.

I was at the '92 game vs Bama when Bama fans were spitting on Tannyhill coming out of the tunnel and screaming for him to get his hair cut or they would cut it for him. After the game was even worse ... so we all have our rude fans and we've all had experiences that stand out as less than perfect.

Personally, after the Bama game in 2010 we had Bama people, total strangers, coming into our Cockaboose telling us we were the finest fans they had ever tailgated with after a loss. I never once saw a single Gamecock fan doing anything but being cordial and humble about our win in 2010.

Matter of fact, after we beat y'all at y'all's place in 2004 we experienced both good and bad ... some incredibly gracious Bama fans and incredibly rude and obnoxious, foul-mouthed drunk Bama fans.

It all goes with the territory in the SEC, some are consistently worse than others.

Yeah bringing up Bama 2010 is weird, it was like the first year we had Spurrier when we beat UF at home, everyone was just so damn HAPPY. No anger at all in the stands or at the tailgates.

I knew when I posted that there would be one of you young whippers that would post this. Yes, there were still phone booths in 1987.
